Happy Mother's Day Mommy!

Mommy, I have something I want to say
About the things you give to me everyday

You shower and give me all your love
So, I give thanks for you to God above

You feed me and clothe me with such great care
And if I need something else, you’re always there

You cover me with love, whenever I’m sad
And when it doesn’t help, you hand me to Dad

You teach me the things I need to know
Helping me to learn what I need as I grow

I’m sorry Mommy when I’m being bad
And I’m sorry Mommy if it makes you sad

And if I’m sick, and up all night with fever
You stay with me and don’t sleep either

You say and do things to make me glad
You make me happy and so does Dad

Thank you, Mommy, for the great big hug
Your arms around me is what I love

Thank you, Mommy, in every way
Thank you, Mommy, on this Mother’s Day!

Love, In Love, and Loving More Than Words Can Say

Love is affection that lives in the heart,
Sometimes most realized when we’re apart.

There is a kind of love for parents and siblings,
When thought about, it brings a comfortable feeling.

There from birth, and continuing as a child,
Bring comfort when you got riled.

As teenagers, we can’t wait to be on our own,
Never consider the comforts of our loving home.

And when you’re feeling unsure and all alone,
The feelings that comforted you from home are gone.

We may never think of the love we share,
If it’s untested and always been there.

This emotion never really weighs on your mind,
Until its absence, and you think of those left behind.

Your mother, father, and your siblings too,
In their absence will enlighten you.

To the loving home you used to share,
When you moved so far away from there.

Then there is the kind of love you share with your spouse,
The greatest kind of love, there is no doubt.

First, you fell in love and knew they were the one,
And it was the greatest love you had ever known.

And if you’re lucky, you’ll find out one day,
You love this person more than words can say.

Being "in love" is a flame that starts to ignite,
A feeling so profound, it fills you with light.

It’s the first glance, the touch of a hand,
The promise of a future you can’t fully understand.

"In love" is the thrill of every new day,
An adventure together, come what may.

It’s the shared dreams, and whispered fears,
Building a life that outlasts the years.

Then comes the stage of loving even more,
A deeper connection, reaching the core.

It's waking each day, with gratitude anew,
For the one who stands beside you, steady and true.

It’s the silent support in the darkest night,
The shared laughter in the morning light.

It's knowing each flaw, yet loving each one,
Finding perfection in imperfection, a journey begun.

Loving more than words can say,
It is a bond that strengthens every day.

It's the unspoken trust and understanding glance,
The second chances, the forgiving dance.

It’s holding their hand when the road gets tough,
Believing in each other when times are rough.

It’s joy in the mundane, the comfort in the routine,
The shared moments that build the unseen.

In the end, love and being in love blend,
Creating a story that has no end.

For love is eternal, ever-growing, ever bright,
A symphony of hearts, dancing in the light.

I am your God, my children

I am your God, my children,
Nothing created, was created without me,

I am your God, my children,
But you’re my most cherished you should see,

I am your God, my children,
Born with sin, you’re separated from me,

I am your God, my children,
So, I sent my son Jesus for the world to see.

I am your God, my children,
Through him, you’ll find your way back to me.

I am your God, my children,
Because my love for you is the greatest you’ll see.

I am your God, my children,
Choose me now, come back to me.
I am your God, my children,

And I’ll give you Heaven, for eternity.

Life After Losing A Spouse

gods-book.com

When we marry, we enter a covenant, till death do us part,
Each made this covenant, expressed from their heart.
Two people join in a union of love for better or worse,
And vow to remain until one departs to the universe.
Confusion, sorrow and grieving for the one that remains,
Loneliness, emptiness and heart break, are the feelings that came.
In marriage, you feel intimacy from what you share,
And after one’s death, suddenly it is no longer there.
Alone and overwhelmed from responsibilities you carry,
Your partners and your own burdens that you can’t bury.
Family and friends who all mean well,
Are full of advice and are eager to tell.
Most offer to help with the burdens that you merited,
The things your spouse took care of, and now you inherited.
As time goes by and the grieving starts to mellow,
Their promises to help disappear and become nello.
Each day that goes by your brokenness declines,
Hopelessness and despair begin to leave your mind.
Now comes feelings of loneliness, from the lack of intimacy,
And thoughts of dating again make you weak in the knees.
Also, feelings of betrayal for your desire to share emotions,
With someone besides the one you gave your devotions.
But the need for companionship is overwhelming when you’re alone,
And there’s nobody to talk about your day with when you get home.
Eventually, you succumb to your feelings and start to date.
And maybe in time, find someone to be your mate.
Then comes more advise from your family and friends,
Disapproving of your actions as happiness finds you again.
Expecting those closest to you to embrace the happiness you’ve found,
Surprise you and make you feel alone again and somewhat put down.
This is also true for the one that lights up your eyes,
They must be feeling rejected and greatly despised.
This makes it difficult for this relationship to form,
Feeling attacked and stung by the unapproving swarm.
But, always remember to nurture your needs,
Because God equipped us this way, seek him to please.
Everyone else will eventually fall in line,
You’ll just need to give them some time.
As far as the one you have chosen to love,
Put them first except for God above.
No one can understand all that you’ve been through,
Unless it’s something they’ve been through too.
Remember you’re loved by all who’ve been unfair,
they wouldn’t act out if they didn’t care.
Be happy with the decisions you’ve made,
And find fulfillment the rest of your days.

Our Legacy

gods-book.com

As we become older and unsure of the time we have left,
We reflect on the memories of the legacy that we’ve expressed.

We sometimes question the way we acted when it was unpleasant,
Wishing it was more positive than our memory at present.

But we’ve all acted and done things we wish we could take back,
Using actions and words that could have been better served with a little tact.

The thing to remember is not all you think you did wrong,
Instead, think of all the good and charity you did, all your life long.

The people we touch is probably greater than we can imagine,
Because it goes beyond those who knew you and saw your passion.

Because people act differently from something they saw in you,
Changed their reaction and influenced people, they knew.

In the same way, they were envied and changed other’s views,
And this happened, touching those people and their views too.

You touched someone and changed who and how they are,
And then they too changed others’ making your legacy go far.

No need wishing to change that which we would like to take back,
Because it too becomes positive to those that saw its impact.

If it was something they noticed as negative and unthoughtful,
Wouldn’t it likely keep them from treating others equally awful?

This is true whether our legacy is from things either good or bad,
Effecting countless others who were touched by the life that you had.

Only God knows how many were touched by you, no matter its meaning,
And could be, it was his intention, a reaction from him intervening.

He uses us in ways we may not be able to understand,
To change the way others think, somehow according to his plan.

Our lives are not our own and that is something we should all know,
Because God uses us for his purpose, and he is in control.

Don’t be concerned with how you’ll be thought of after you depart,
Because your legacy is the sum of all the good that came from your heart.

Just know you are loved by all your family, acquaintances and friends,
And your love and goodness will make you remembered long after your life in heaven begins.

If you Don't Like Who You've Become, Become Who You Like

gods-book.com

As we look back on our lives, and do not like what we have become,
Caught in a day-to-day grind and now we are just numb.

Never thinking about how we have treated ourselves or others,
We wind up in a place not suited for us or our brothers.

Maybe we feel like we cannot change who we are,
Sometimes we feel like we cannot go very far.

And if your personality is not your best,
Then we can put a new one to the test.

Who told us we cannot be all we are meant to be?
All we need is to have faith and believe.

We must first be positive and willing,
And soon our new personality will be revealing.

A new us is what others will see,
When we morph into what we are meant to be.
.
We can change from who we are now,
And become what we want, I will tell you how.

First, we need to find and obey our God,
His grace will keep us from feeling so odd.

To love ourselves is the most important of these,
The things we need that make our change a breeze.

Removing the things we feel negative about,
This will help, there is no doubt.

Feelings of uprightness and integrity,
Should heal us from feelings of insecurity.

Loving our neighbors is important too,
Being positive and not criticizing will help me and you.

When we begin to love ourselves and others,
Our negative personality vanishes, we have no shudders.

Doubt and fear are the root of our problems,
And sometimes cause us to fall on our bottoms.

Negative people are a problem too,
We need to keep them away from me and you.

Finding friends that make us feel good,
Will help us to be positive just as we should.

Kind and generous are the way to happiness,
Not criticism and hate, they are poisonous.

So, if we do not like the person we have come to be,
Become the person you like, it is possible you see.

I hope this poem helps when change seems so far,
If you are feeling like you don’t like the person you are.

You are a champion waiting to shine,
So, give it a try and everything will be fine.

Why Assume

Assumption Definition: Gods-Book.com

Oxford: A thing that is accepted as true or as certain to happen,
                            without proof.

Marriam Webster: An assuming that something is true.

Cambridge: Something that you accept as true without question or
                            proof.

Are you mad at someone because of something about them you assume to be the truth?
And did you tell those close to you your assumption, making this person appear uncouth?

Could be you assumed something and told people you both knew,
Spreading your assumption as gossip, making them believe it too.

And the power of your persuasion from the negative picture you paint,
Leads them to question this person after hearing your taint.

This can have an enormous impact on how a person is perceived.
And without any input from this person that your taint swayed others to believe.

Now, this person has a negative reputation, from your assumption’s aftermath,
And those who were close to them, now avoid their path.

Maybe the allegation makes you too uncomfortable to have just asked
This person directly what you assumed, when you put them on blast.

Is it fair to destroy one’s reputation without even a word from them about what you assumed?
And your persuasion of others, as your rumors and doubts bloomed.

But what if you paused, took a moment to reflect?
And chose to ask questions to them direct?

You’d likely find that assumptions often lead us astray,
And the truth when uncovered, can clear the way.

For understanding and empathy to fully take root,
And for relationships to grow, bearing honest fruit.

So next time you find yourself quick to assume,
Remember the power of asking this person directly lets understanding bloom.

Wrongful assumptions often come from a thought to your mind,
And quickly turn into something devastating when spread blind.

It can change the way a person is received by family and friends they love.
And make a person feel rejected and made a mockery of.

All of this, because of something you came to assume,
Defames a person’s reputation over a thought that you presume.

Innocent of the rumors wrongfully assumed by you,
And without merit destroys this person’s relationship with friends, moreover, family too.

Do you spread untruth from something you presume?
It changes one’s character, IT’S WRONG TO ASSUME!

Jealousy

Feelings of jealousy stem from insecurity,
Making us feel bound by infidelity.
It stirs in us feelings of great distress,
Thoughts consuming us, causing unrest.
Sometimes it’s a mere misunderstanding,
And when clarified, proves notwithstanding.
But when someone's words and actions diverge,
Doubt creeps in, emotions start to surge.
You hear one thing, yet their actions betray,
Leaving you confused, questioning the fray.
The stories they tell seem to acquit,
But their behavior casts shadows on it.
Betrayal and deceit, born from jealous thoughts,
A battle in your mind that can't be fought.
Questioning them, placing them on the spot,
Wondering if their honesty is all for naught.
When truth feels evasive, words seem uncouth,
Seeking actions that align with the supposed truth.
Defensiveness rises, emotions run high,
Actions contradict, leaving questions why.
Remember, jealousy’s root lies in insecurities,
Breeding feelings of obscure uncertainties.
Envy too can fuel this green-eyed beast,
Wishing for what others have, never feeling at peace.
Imagine being secure in heart and mind,
Free from regrets and doubts of any kind.
In a loving relationship, deeply secure,
Jealousy’s grip would lessen, that’s for sure.
Honesty and openness with your partner, pure,
No secrets hidden; trust will endure.
Make your lover your confidant, your best friend,
Such transparency ensures jealousy’s end.
Reflect on the blessings you already possess,
Let go of envy and learn to feel blessed.
Love what you have, cherish the now,
Jealousy fades when gratitude takes a bow.
Hope this helps all who read it,
And you’re jealous feelings are defeated.

The Power of Words

gods-book.com

The words we hear when others speak
describe a story of their own critique

When we hear the words they use to define
It has influences on the thoughts in our mind

These words are used to describe their prospective
They explain the meaning behind their objective

Understanding the meaning of the words they recite
You should be vigilant if their persuasion is spite

Words are defining by how they are used
When we hear what is said it changes our views

Maybe it's something you hear for the first time
Or could be a story familiar to your mind

Either way, when we hear these things said
It has an impact on the thoughts in our head

The same is true when the storyteller is you
Its influence on those hearing words you use

The power of words can never be matched
The way they’re used and its powerful impact

Words have the ability to hinder or heal
To change our mood and the way that we feel

How they are used can hurt or cause harm
Humiliate, embarrass and rob one of charm

The power of words can lift us up high
Used the right way and what they imply

Words have influenced the way we are
How we view ourselves be it defeat or self-regard

Words were used to teach everything we know
The tool for learning and making us grow

They influenced the persons we’ve all become
The words we’ve heard that made us succumb

Words are powerful and we should all show care
In how we use them for the things we share

The impact they have when taken the wrong way
Are sometimes hurtful from things we say

So, choosing words with consideration in mind
To those hearing them make you seem kind

When others are subjects of something you’ve said
Think how you would feel if it were you instead

So use positive words to describe your appeal
And thoughtful words defining how you feel

Becoming A Christian

gods-book.com

To become a Christian, you must believe, In Jesus’ love, and His grace receive. Be born again, with faith so true, In the Holy Trinity, guiding you.
For in the Bible, it is said, “For God so loved the world,” He led, His only Son to die for all, That we might rise and never fall.
But many claim they know His name, Professing faith, yet live in shame. They’ll hear Him say, “I never knew, Depart from me, you who are untrue.”
To believe in Him is more than thought, It’s living by the love He taught. He came to die upon the cross, To save us from eternal loss.
He paved the way to God above, With mercy, grace, and endless love. Our sins He bore, though sinless He, To set us from our bondage free.
God is pure, and sin He shuns, Our sins divide us from His sons. Without a way to bridge the gap, We’d face eternal death’s cold trap.
Jesus, sinless, walked this earth, The only one of perfect worth. He died to pay our debt of sin, And rose to life, our souls to win.
Without His sacrifice, so grand, We’d never reach the promised land. Our spirits lost, in Hell’s domain, Eternal torment, endless pain.
Believing in Jesus means much more, Than knowing He walked on this shore. It’s trusting in His saving grace, And seeking His divine embrace.
To believe He came to save, And through His death, our lives He gave. To be born again, made pure and new, In the Father, Son, and Spirit too.
To trust in Him and not our own, For we are His, not ours alone. To follow where He leads us to, And do His will in all we do.
To know He gives us all we need, And in His love, our hearts will feed. To spread His word, and help the poor, To love each other more and more.
To pray and seek His will each day, And share our faith along the way. To sacrifice when He commands, And place our lives within His hands.
To make Him first, above all else, And rid our lives of sinful spells. To be born again, and Spirit-led, In paths of righteousness we’re led.
To believe in Him is to submit, Our lives to Him, and never quit. He is our shepherd, we His sheep, In His embrace, our souls will keep.
To accept the gift of life above, From God the Father, full of love. To obey His word, and live in light, With Jesus guiding day and night.
