Lost

So you love me?
Then why does my face hurt!
You won't do it again?
Then why do I flinch as you walk by.

You'll be better?
A prayer unanswered.
You weren't always this way?
A past promise, probably why I stay.

So I bring this on?
But all I ever done is love.
Don't tell anyone?
The words would hurt more than the mess you made in me.

You’ll change?
But you’ve made it clear im the one who’s broken
Help you?
Im the one on the ground and dare not raise my head.

I never listen?
Your words are waves pounding against the rocks

Ive forgotten me.

Alone

Barely I stood
before being knocked down.
Presenting smiles
to hide my frown.

Long sleeves in summer
to hide the signs.
Conceal the bruises.
Scars of my binds.

In dark I sit
peering underneath.
Hoping not to see
feet coming on floor beneath.

I dare not look
Into pains eye.
Or there shall be a reckoning
that would be applied.

My tummy growls.
empty as my soul.
Other kids point
say hurtful words of droll

What more can I take?
What more can pain give?
Before scars are gone
And I can just live..live ..live.

I tremble with fear
knowing no other way.
I pray to God, take me.
lest I take me away.

Forgiven

In my reflection
  see my reflection
all in what God has made.

I see all my flaws
  whatever the cause
  gently taken away.

In all His goodness.
  In all His kindness.
He comes like rain to ground.

It pounds away
  all that of dismay.
  Undeserved gift of peace.

He who wears the crown
  whose love knows no bound.
  Constant wash of my sins.

My Savior

The one who fails.
I who falls.
The one that bails, within my walls.

You tell me when.
I turn away.
Search within, delay my way.

Cut off my yoke.
I stand in wait.
Another loke, always my fate.

I bend the knee.
I cry aloud.
My demons flee, I've been avowed.

I see my Lord.
He is my bread.
I've been restored, by He who bled.

He bear the cross.
I bear no shame.
No longer a loss, I bear His name.

My Boy 1988

No one ever told me, it could be like this.
To have such a fine boy, whose life I'd miss.

To look at a face, grow into a face like my own.
Bass in his voice, could he be my clone?

If along our path, should we walk by.
Would I know him from his stride. My stride, coincide.

Are his thought that of mine? Does he tilt his head just so?
Absent from his world, how would I know?

I could only hope we have what binds.
A father. A son. Could God be so kind?

Amelia

In the morning as I sit and watch you lay,
in what seems to be a playful bliss.

My attention is quickly taken by your milky white skin.
Caressed by lotions and perfumed by oil.
Forever young you have stayed.

And what seems to be angel dust, gleaming like fireflies in the sunlight
shines through the window and settles softly against the nape of your neck.

You move. Slightly so, but enough so what once covered your
 lower back gently slips away.
As if undisturbed by time, your curvature would indicated the
  absence of children.

You awake. With an inviting smile and a look familiar enough
not having to use words, I move in.....

in run the children.

My Jennifer

I float.
Arms extended beside me I float towards a this house.
I have never seen this house, but it draws me...calls to me,

It sits alone in a field of tall sunflowers. The pull it has on my
heart is strong and undeniable. Slowly coming upon it I see people gathered there on the porch. I can't make out their faces but their stares feel warm. Inviting. It has the feel of old time friends and family long passed.

As I make my way to the stairs. The figures, still waving, gesture me to the front door. With a sense of familiarity I know everyone. They know me. They Love me and have been waiting. A beam of light shines through the front door. Im ushered through. just me. No one follows. I look back. They're gone.

Inside this empty house of hallways are many windows. It feels very much lived in. A light shines through one. I'm drawn to it. I peer in.

In a flash of light I see being played out on the other side like a movie; its you. Laying in bed. asleep. Someone laying next to you is stroking your hair. Softly touching you ears and lips as if to know you without sight. I feel love there in the silence. Your hair glowing around your face.
Inside the house another window glows with light and I peer in.

There you are. Slightly out of focus but I know its you. Little by little the picture becomes evident. It is you. You're crying. Crying tears of joy laying on a hospital bed. You're handed a baby. A little boy. Im overwhelmed wanting to climb through.

Back inside, in front of a door is one figure. It wants me to see. It wants me to go through. I do.

Nothing. Total darkness. Despair, pain, misery and sorrow. I dont like it here. All my nightmares in one room. I feel a hand reach into my chest. Not for my heart but for my soul. I open my mouth to scream. empty air. I feel a hand grab mine and pull me back through the door.

The house is now gone and im back in the field of sunflowers. I look to the sky. It's all dark. My hand still being held. Just then a ball of fire explodes in the sky and filled the darkness with a billion stars and a new moon. I look to see who's holding my hand. Its you. You smile. I cry and hold you as if you were gone a lifetime.

My love. A love lit by the light of a billion stars. A feeling so pleasing to my soul that it knows no other. You feel warm, inviting with purity, clarity and lucidity. A Love. One love. Evergreen and ever-after.

And I will love you long after the the moon returns to dust and the stars fall from the heavens.

Luminescence

My eyes fast open.
   Afar a light.

Adrift in slumber.
    my souls in flight.

Afraid in devine.
   Behind, the mundane.

Upon luminaire.
   My luminaire remain.

At The Doors of Heaven

There is a place.
Sweet as the smell of breath when whispered your name,
into which love has gathered.

Inspired by the colors of your soul when fully extended in love.
Side by side to any rainbow, your magnificent colors shine through.

A place where linear time has no place.
Souls in love can travel back to memories rekindled by the sight
of a smile.

Never could I believe I would stand alone
in such a place. Heart in hand.

In a place where songbirds chime out the songs of ever after,
Like the pleasing sound of children playing.

And with my heart, in my hands, my mind
can only go back to the one who was to meet me there...
At the doors of heaven

Mother

You held me safe in your arms
since the day I was born and really never
put me down.

I felt safe as you'd rock back and forth
humming sweet lullabies until sleep
came to me sound.

You mended scrapped knees, broken hearts
and scared off monsters from
beneath my bed.

You sweetly pressed your lips
to my cheeks when I would cry
and away went the pain.

You made me smile again
by promising the rainbows that came
after the rain.

You were strong, yet vulnerable to my tears.
You were stern, yet caring for my every need.

You were hopeful for me as I went on with my life,
yet you never looked away.

You were the very definition of mother.
Loving, with open arms.

And through all I have learned from you
I promise to do the same for my family.

You were the twigs that made my nest and the
strength that held my fears at bay. You were the
inspiration that filled my dreams.

So shall I be for mine. To make you proud.

Now as the seasons come and go you'll
be forever present in my thoughts.

In the summer you'll be the sound of children
playing and the cool breeze upon my cheeks
during warm nights.

In the fall you'll be the sight of the moon
as it lights up the autumn sky.

In the winter you'll be the sun as it warms
my face and the glistening of fresh fallen snow.

In the spring you'll be the sound of birds revealing
their songs and the new found seedlings that made
their way through the earth.

And so shall I be for mine.

Love you....Mother
