The ladder of life By: Suzan Satchell

The ladder of life

The ladder of life is not meant for style, so be careful as you go up, so you don't slide.
Be nice and kind to those you pass by.
Be mindful of others as you make your stride.
Life is not constant, it changes with time.
Today it may be stable, but tomorrow it's not.
Make Jesus your main focus as you go by.
Show kindness to others, and you will reap it back in time.
In helping others, we strengthen our own ladder of life.
The ladder of life can be shaky at times, and help from others is needed many times.
We reap what we sow, so sow what you need.
The ladder of life is not meant for style.

I met a girl by Suzan Satchell

I met a girl

I met a girl who once was me who wandered far from Christ
I met a girl who once was me who didn't have time to pray.
I met a girl who once was me who didn't have time for anyone else.
I met a girl who once was me she was so busy doing everything else except to whisper a prayer or praise.
Yes, I met a girl who once was me who tried to get the best of everything in life.
I met a girl who once was me, she was distressed and full of self.
I met a girl who once was me who reminded me of myself.
Yes, I met a girl who once was me and we came face to face one day.
I met a girl who once was me, and she was so empty inside.
I met a girl who once was me and I could not leave her in the same place.
Yes, I met a girl who once was me and was able to point her to the Savior's grace.
I met a girl who once was me now we are standing side by side save and standing in Christ.

I fell in love with Jesus by Suzan Satchell

I fell in love with Jesus

Jesus, I am so happy I fell in love with you.
I never regret the day I did, and I still have not had any to date.
All I know is that I keep falling in love with you over and over again.
You make my life complete.
Thank you for loving me unconditionally throughout the years.
Yesterday I chose you
Today I chose you, and tomorrow I will still choose you.
Always and forever, it's Jesus and me.
No greater love exists than Jesus' love.
I fell in love with Jesus when I was just a tiny tot as I watched my grandmother pray.
She taught me how to pray and trust someone who cared.
I fell in love with Jesus because He first loved me.
My grandmother was my real-life example of what a trusting relationship should be.
Mother, as we called her, would call us to prayer with her favorite friend.
I chose Jesus then and there to be my favorite too.
I knew He would love me because I could see it on my grandmother's face.
Her face was always smiling, her lips were always singing, and prayer was her thing.
It was so nice to have a grandmother who tried to live how Jesus lived.
I would never be who I am today if it were not for my grandmother's faith.
Because of her love for Jesus, I was able to fall in love with Him.
Yes, I fell in love with Jesus, and I would do it over and over again.
You passed away when I was only five, but I am still with Jesus, who is my favorite best friend.
Someday I will see you in glory, where Jesus will be our King, because I am living the way you did with Jesus as my best friend.

(In honor of my grandmother, affectionately called "Mother,” Mae McFarlane.)

I am my mother's child by Suzan Satchell

I am my mother's child
By: Suzan Satchell
I am my mother's child I am my mother's child so precious, so kind and so dear. I'm my mother's child my hair so dark and so fine. I' m my mother's child my eye's so brown, so bright, I'm my mother's child my lips my smile so wide. I'm my mother's child I hear it all the times. I'm my mother's child for this can never hide. I'm my mother's child so sweet, so kind, and so fine. I'm my mother's child my lips my words so kind. I'm my mother's child my voice just simply nice. I'm my mother's child my hands so slender, yet so willing and helpful. I'm my mother's child I let the whole world know it. I'm my mother's child my feet so swift so light. I'm my mother's child do you hear me, words spoken so kind? I'm my mother's child with a heart like a gem. I'm my mother's child a heart so full of love. I'm my mother's child she taught me gems and poems. I'm my mother's child she taught me to pray and sing. I'm my mother's child she whispered sweet words to me she passed away so long, yet she still lives on in me……because I'm my mother's child.

In the quietness of my thoughts by Suzan Satchell

In the quietness of my thoughts

In the quietness of my thoughts, my mind wondered to the throne of God.
I stand in awe at what I see.
A beautiful place surrounded by angels.
Praise and worship flowed abundantly and free.
As I looked around, my mind was free from the cares of my burden, which held me captive.
So quiet and peaceful, my mind was finally free to turn my mind to Jesus and become completely free.
I felt a fresh burst of tranquility from visiting the heavenly sanctuary as I walked among the angels in peace and harmony.
I see the great mansions, and one was prepared for me.
Bright crowns and white garments for all who obey.
The master was present, and I made haste to meet Him.
His love and kindness captivated me.
How one so mighty could make Himself so free to someone like me?
My visit to heaven was indeed special for me.

I am a Christian by Suzan Satchell

I am a Christian

I'm a Christian. I'm not flawless; I'm just scared, battered, and bruised, but I'm still a striving Christian.
I'm striving to be like Jesus, my master and king, and to be a Christ-like Christian.
I'm a Christian, and I want the world to know. I'm a Christian I'm led by His victorious right hand.
I'm a Christian living by the master's plan.
I'm a Christian by choice and determination.
I'm not perfect; I'm just a dedicated Christian.
I'm a Christian, and I pledge my allegiance to no other one.
Through thick and thin.
In good and bad times.
I hope to be a faithful Christian and make it to the promised land.
Oh, how sweet it is to be an obedient Christian.
Yes, I am a Christian, and I show it best by living a Christ-like, real-life sermon.

Right on time by Suzan Satchell

Right on time

Have you ever gone through a rough time when you felt so alone and there was no one you could turn to for a lifeline?
You cried, and you cried, and your tears would not dry.
You searched and you searched, but no one was in sight who would reach out and give a word of encouragement or even a helping hand.
Instead of a kind word from those whom you know, they cast their assertion and turned up their noses.
You thought they would help, but they make matters worse.
One day after another, your situation gets worse.
You feel so rejected, despised, and alone.
Your ship is capsizing, and you see no way out.
But thank God for Jesus, who provided a lifeline and brought you out on time.
You cried out to Jesus, and He came through on time.
His love and compassion caused you to smile.
Thank you, Dear Jesus, for coming through on time.

I can still say but God by Suzan Satchell

I can still say but God

My burdens are many; my future looks blighted, but I can still say, But God.
When I look at my past and see how He has led me so far, I can still say, But God.
There are many days I don't know what to do, but I can still say, But God.
Forsaken and forgotten, but I can still say, But God.
The bills may be high, and my baskets are dry, but I can still say, But God.
The mountains are high, and I can't find the strength to climb, but I can still say, But God.
I am faced with a great test, and I'm so pressed, but I can still say, But God.
The trials are many, and the struggles are real, but I can still say, But God.
The world is closing in, and friends are all gone, but I can still say, But God.
The ship may be rocky, and my sail is all torn, but I can still say, But God.
No matter the hour or the time of day, all I can say is God.
He leads, guides, and never forsakes me Yes, it's only God!

I open my heart to you, Lord by Suzan Satchell

I open my heart to you, Lord

I open my heart to you, Lord.
Please come and abide within.
I open my heart to you, Lord.
It is your throne room for your dwelling.
I open my heart to you, Lord; come and fill the void.
I open my heart to you, Lord.
I want to do your will.
I open my heart to you, Lord.
That love may flow freely from within.
I open my heart to you, Lord.
Sweet Melody I will be singing.
I open my heart to you, Lord.
Forever, you are my king.

If Christ had not risen by Suzan Satchell

If Christ had not risen

If Christ had not risen, our sins could not be forgiven.
We would never be able to be granted a pardon.
If Christ had not risen, there would be no way for us to get access to grace and eternity.
If Christ had not risen, what would we do for the sacrifice of the sin offering? Turtledove and bullock prices would be high, and sin offerings would be too much to pay for you or even me. Christ saw the problem, and He paid the price a long, long time ago.
If Christ had not risen, our souls would be lost.
But because of His blood, we are pardoned and set free at the cross.
If Christ had not risen, where would we spend eternity? That's a question each one must answer.
But thank God for Christ's victory; we are saved and set free.
