Somebody

Somebody

I don’t know why I’m writing this poem to you,
When you’re not even the one I’m drawn to.
But why, when I think of him
You’re the one who comes to mind.
Now, I doubt myself
For liking someone,
But thinking about somebody.
I often ponder if I cross your mind,
If my presence lingers, even in kind.
Please, don't look at me like Romeo to Juliet,
I don't want to fall for someone I'll regret.
Do I truly like him, or is it you?
As I write this poem, the answer comes into view.
I know deep down, you're not meant for me,
Just another passing soul, not meant to be.
So I'll cherish the moments we've shared,
But I won't let my heart be ensnared.
You're just one of the men who crossed my path,
But our destinies, they'll never align, alas.

The Girl They Didn't See

But when no one was watching,
She laughed a little loud,
Spoke faster than she should have,
Forgot how to be proud.

With friends, she bent the rules a bit,
Ran barefoot, scraped her knees,
She asked the questions out loud
She never asked on bended knees.

Alone, she filled her notebooks
With poems and songs she couldn’t sing,
Built worlds inside her messy head,
And found a voice in everything.

She wasn’t only silence,
Or the girl they thought they knew;
She held a thousand versions,
And every one was true.

Writing the Unspoken Feelings

Writing is my hobby, like many others do,
Just like my lover, who loves someone new.
Through the rhythm and rhyme, I ignite.
These unspoken feelings, I gently write,

In writing poetry, I find my release,
It’s like a journey where my soul finds peace.
Silent whispers, unspoken desires,
Ignite the page with passionate fires.

Through ink and verse, I weave a tale,
Of a love unrequited, a bittersweet travail.
Read my poems and you will see,
With a pen in hand, my truths set free.

I Am in Love

I am in love, yes so true,
With One whose love will ever grow.
This time, I know it’s not one-sided,
In His warm grace, I’m safely guided.

His love is deep, it has no end,
A faithful guide, a constant friend.
Though I may wander, stray, or roam,
His heart remains my steady home.

He waits with patience, ever kind,
With peace and light for me to find.
Wherever I may choose to be,
His love surrounds and carries me.

No fear, no doubt, no need to hide,
With God, I walk, with Him abide.
This time, I know I'm truly free,
For God is love, and He loves me.

I Like You The Most

I Like You The Most

I heard a song, it made my heart light,
Just like you do, making everything right.
I asked for the title, with a hopeful post,
Then you replied, "I like you the most."

My heart skipped a bit, a feeling so true,
Because you said something, I love to hear from you.
How I wish you'd say that someday, raising a toast,
Not referring to the song, but to me, your host.

Just like the song, with its melodious tune,
I hope you'll say, "You're the one I like," soon.
For in my heart, you'll always be the one I boast,
The one I like, the one I like the most.

Timeless Longing

I am longing for somebody.
But do I have the right to feel this way?
He’s not mine—not yet, not ever.
But he’s trapped in my mind, now and forever.

Every time I check my phone,
I’m hoping for your name in my notification zone.
Fearful of losing each other in this game of confusion,
My heart longs for you; now that’s my confession.

If granted one wish today,
I’d choose to see you and ask for time to run slowly.
I may not be yours tomorrow or even today,
You’ll always be at the heart of my poetry.

The Silent Tale

As I was wandering on this lazy day,
Thought of you crept my mind away.
How did all of this even start?
Now I’m ready to unveil my part.

When my eyes met yours,
I warned myself to not get involved with you.
The feeling just came to me,
You’ll become someone hard to let go.

There is just something in your eyes,
Telling me more than just a “Hi.”
It showed me care and attention,
That sparked all this delusion.

Your eyes narrate what words can't convey,
Communication is key but we chose the hard way.
As thoughts remain unsaid,
I allowed my mind to craft the tale instead.

The Guessing Game

I don’t speak, I write.
I don’t bark, I bite.
Though I don't meet your gaze,
You're in my mind all of my days.

Notes I send each night,
Is your response to my delight?
You make me think, oh babe,
Is this a game you've played?

Was it me, or was it not?
Thought it was me, but it's not.
Your actions, they confuse,
Why treat me special if I'm not the muse?

How long should I guess,
Should I write and confess?
Can't even meet your eyes, how can I hear your lies,
Oh boy, was it me in disguise?

Make the first move, can you?
I can't, but I might respond to you.
Who wouldn't want to be pursued,
By someone they've treasured and valued?

Thy Stubborn Heart

I told myself
To refrain from falling
For someone unfit for my heart’s satisfaction.
Now, i woke up thinking of you
First thought when I lay down was you.
Why does my heart refuse to cease
From plunging into love so sudden and intense?

I hate you for talking to me
You made my heart pound with glee.
I hate you even more for calling my name
Knowing my heart will never be the same.

Oh, dear heart!
Just why would you fall.
I wish to shield you from heartaches and all
Let this be a lesson learned
Of a love that brought us pain, a love spurned.

My Fault

Dumbfounded, I am.
How come nothing happened,
But I was torn like everything ended.
Nothing happened, so was it all in my head?

Delusional, was I?
My fault, but why?
I hoped for all your lies.
You made me think that it was you and I.

Never say it was you being friendly.
And it was my fault for thinking overly.
When the truth came out,
I felt the heavy rainfall across the sky
Even when I see no rain, the birds fly.
I see darkness in the daylight,
And see the stars no longer bright.

My fault, so don’t be sorry.
My fault for being this way.
I just thought I was finally loved,
When you said you don’t love her already.
