Ode to NYC

I gave my heart away to you
On the night that new year drew
The Sinatra chimes and yellow vines
Sleeplessly anew

City of dreams, built on piano keys
And indie structures melodies
I left my heart in San Francisco**
But i stole it back for you

It was winter

It was winter when i saw you
Hauntingly cold on the church pew
You spoke of forgiveness and fear
To a divine spirit, not here
We were quiet that winter blue

Seeking answers of what is true
In sadness, i remembered you
An old face from laughter and tears
It was winter

We were alone and said words few
Ghoulish soul in jaded eyes; you
Past photos of us, faded peer
But now your ghost just haunts me here
And there we sat on the church pew
It was winter

Last nights trousers

Foggy monday
Mourning sunday
Saturday blackout
Death by boozing Friday bruiser
Thursdays web of mid-week loser
Wednesday filled with pills and shots
Drink it up with Tuesdays lot
Foggy Monday finds its calling
In a sweaty sot on the ground, crawling

The lonely mans limerick

The lonley man knows no clothes
For he has no places he goes
Not a hat for a head
Nor pyjamas for bed
The lonely man has no place to call home
