Warren Mitchell Poem
The fear it holds me back
Gut wrenching, tears descending
I could fill a thousand rivers
Hope is what I need to deliver
I can smile a thousand smiles
That light shines right through me
You'll see a hollow bottom
I ask, will I be forgotten?
This track I'm on
Goes round in circles
Will someone show me
I need to get off
My mind is tiring
I'm flashing red
My bed feels warm
Will I wake at dawn

Warren Mitchell Poem
I can be old and wise
Nothing much will take my surprise
But deep inside
I am just a boy
He's never grown with me
He's still there wanting to be free
His memories shattered
Then I remember
I am just a boy
I've lived through much
Laughter, fights, heartbreak and such
I have Children of my own now
And they remind me how
I am just a boy
One day he will be free
One day he'll look at me
We will share our thanks
Then I'll remember
The boy I used to be

Warren Mitchell Poem
Keeping busy
Tic-Tac-Toe
Checking my lists
Tic-Tac-Toe
Cooking and cleaning
Tic-Tac-Toe
Trips to the lake
Tic-Tac-Toe
Let's take a walk
Tic-Tac-Toe
Rummaging and fumbling
Tic-Tac-Toe
Just keeping busy
Tic-Tac-Toe
Never still. Never rest
Tic-Tac-Toe
Time always heals Mother said
Tic-Tac-Toe
Memories Never Fade
Tic-Tac-Toe

Warren Mitchell Poem
Stuck in a prison
I've nowhere to hide
I've built these walls
My time, I will bide
Push on these walls
We can make it grow
I will bounce side to side
I will walk to-and-fro
In my prison there's no escape
You can spend your life here
No screams will be heard
Do you want peace dear?
I cannot open your doors
But just ask, I'll give you a task
Talking is required
In freedom you will bask.
