I Am She, She Is Mine

if she ever smiled,
cracks would show,
if perfection existed
she wouldn't know,

listen to her cries-
the way they sound like singing,
listen to her lies-
the way they it feels like living,

if she ever left
the world would split in two;
standing, on nothing but a raft,
she'll show up when you're blue

but you let her go-
now you're on your own
by then you'll cry,
and she won't show.

teeth fall but at least you're there;
when the skyes open up
the ocean won't be fair,
but she won't stop

looking to be first
not in their vocabulary-
oh! but she'll burst
and you might worry

that she won't make it-
until you see
the moon's well lit
while the air will be your fee

and when it hurts
the sea won't care,
and when it burns
she'll cut her hair-

for she's the stars, the moon and the sky-
and im hers, until i die.

Hot Art Guy

i still remember
the way you said my name-
the way your voice gave me chills;
your lips, so soft,
i still feel them on mine.

you've never left my mind since,
time never ceased and yet with you,
the world felt ours to take;

my thoughts preoccupied by your
sunset skin,
night colored eyes,
the summer leaves in your hair,
and the conversation i wish had never come to an end

i could've died in your arms that day
yet maybe it's too early,
but that's okay too
for time seems endless when you're near.

you feel familiar,
like a distant memory i wish never left me-
and maybe it never will-
but being able to remember it is enough
for i am not of greed,
i will be grateful regardless of what tonight brings.

Sunflower

i love you but not in the way one should,
i feel for you in the way sunflowers feel
for the sun
you are my guide,
my star-
the one that brings me back,
always.

i stand tall under your rays,
bright and cheery
when you are there;
then you set, and i feel alone;
awaiting your return.

red, streaking my yellow,
resentment is a two headed sword-
biting the hand that feeds it.
forget-me-nots filling my head,
time is not enough for the knots
that encircle
this incomprehensible soul-

still i am your sunflower,
standing tall, under your gaze,
grateful for the temporary warmth
you bring.
