Even the Sparrows

Even the sparrow has a place to lay it's head,
So why should I lay worries on my breath?

All the world's colors laid with such ingeniousness
so why should I live in gray grievousness?

Oh God! you even crafted nature's music in brilliance!
Then how can I be overcome by my monotonous silence?
( It was my silence, a strangling silence,
Unpeaceful, condemning, rooted in me with defiance.)

-Storms visit all forests.
But trees are anchored with firmness.
So when anxiety hits me hardest,
 trees teach me calmness.

Even how the tides dance over the oceans, and how they crash and thunder!
So small I feel, and insignificant,
that pride cannot be a blunder.

To the short-tempered man,
                                    I'd advice,
look to nature and her device.
To the jealous
                               I must teach,
How all creation will live in joy and peace.

And those who hate must consider
that Life always tramples the bitter

Hence what I know is this:
Man is witty, and crafts many things
but has forgotten to think about all his blessings.

I Saw Your Face

Saw your face and noticed
The reflection in your eyes.
And peered into your lovely soul
As well as the hidden lies.
I know they tried pulling away
Your heart from mine
But I knew that if I stayed
Our love would bring you back in time

(Her- "I wanted to run, I wanted to hide
I really couldn't rend his heart,
By telling him I lied.")

Darling, come closer and feel
My warmth. It will surely heal
The scars your struggles have left
If this road you've chosen
Means that we'll be broken,
Know that I'll always be okay.

(Her- "When I returned, he was distraught.
I saw him worried, if not
Angered. Yet 'soon as he saw my face
His heart melted, his arms beckoned me to an embrace.")

Love is patient, even in ferocity
It is gracious in it's generosity.
Love forbears, it is kind
Love sees the heart,
 though people say it's blind.

Breaking Point

As if till now numbed-my mind,
Suddenly i woke from the dream,
Once again to remorse find

How I got here, I do not know
But here somehow, at the breaking point.
Avoiding the quicksands that pull me lower,
I try to find a vantage point.

And just as I strain to look behind,
I see the places where i shattered.
So sorrow brings me on my knees, Eventhough mourning now didn't matter

Then I realised-
 It takes real courage
Not to face fears, but to have a will to subdue them.
Courage to recieve strength in weak knees,
To leave my recluse of illusion.
And for redemption that frees
 from these chains of deception.

What brings you to your breaking point?! Do your enemies?
 No!
 Where does hope really disappoint?
 At your miseries? No!

For these I could face,
When there's peace within. But if there's turbulance inside, My spirit starts crumbling in.

So when I settle the struggle within,
Even the faintest hope will do.
Then I'll make it to the breaking point,
Even through and through.
         -ek

Destiny

OH DESTINY!
Everyone walks your way unwittingly.
They ask your whereabouts,
To get to know you hopefully.

OH DESTINY!
Your path is traversed with difficulty!
A trip, slip or a fall,
And we'll lose you completely.

You're forceful in your manner,
So to most, you are an enemy.
But you rise above the mediocre clamour
And reward a few generously.

OH DESTINY!
You test my integrity!
To God you will answer,
So let's have harmony.

The next time you call,
Let me hear carefully!
For only my decisions can,
 overpower your tyranny.
