Eyes Wide Open

I lay in bed, eyes wide open,
Counting sheep, but they have all spoken,
My mind races, thoughts galore,
But sleep, oh sleep, it's such a chore.

The clock ticks on, the night grows old,
My body tired, but my mind so bold,
I toss and turn, I try to rest,
But insomnia has passed its test.

The moonlight shines through the windowpane,
As I lay here with my thoughts in vain,
The world is quiet, but my mind so loud,
I wish for sleep, to join the crowd.

But alas, it's just not meant to be,
Insomnia has taken hold of me,
And so I'll lay here, eyes open wide,
Until the morning sun does rise.

Change

Apparently, change is a good thing
I can sometimes agree with that
But other times
I think change is the worst,
I like to change up my room quite often, put more things on the wall,
Take things off the walls, and move my bed.
I also like to change my hair, dye it fun colors, and get crazy hair cut’s.

But I hate change when it happens to people, not physical change but mental change.
I hate how you changed,

Before you didn't care, you acted like we were the only two who existed
You liked dancing, singing, and just being absolute idiots,
But now all you care about is how you look to others.
I wish you didn't have to change.

Love, like a rose, blooms with gentle grace,
Its fragrance sweet and its beauty rare,
It warms the heart and lights up the face,
And fills the soul with joy beyond compare.

Love, like a flame, burns with fierce desire,
Its passion strong and its heat intense,
It consumes the heart with a searing fire,
And leaves the soul in rapturous suspense.

Love, like a song, sings with sweetest sound,
Its melody pure and its harmony true,

Alone Again

Alone I sit and ponder on my fate,
A solitary soul in this abyss,
No friendly voice or hand to mitigate
The emptiness that fills my heart amiss.

The silence echoes loudly in my ear,
A haunting sound that chills me to the bone,
And though I try to push away the fear,
I find myself in solitude alone.

The world around me bustles with its noise,
But I am deafened by the stillness here,
And though I long for someone's loving poise,
I know that loneliness is all I'll bear.

So here I sit and wait for something new,
To fill the void and chase away the blue.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness is a virtue they say,
But it's not easy to give away.
Especially when someone hurts us badly,
It's hard to forget the pain they had.

Yet, we must try to move on,
And let go of things that are gone.
For holding onto anger and hatred,
Will only make our lives more complicated.

So, though it's hard to forgive sometimes,
We must try to let go of past crimes.
And hope that someday we'll find peace,
And our broken hearts will finally cease.

The Girl I Need

I need a girl who doesn't need me,
One who's strong and independent, you see.
She'll have her own life and her own dreams,
And won't rely on me for everything it seems.

I want a girl who's confident and sure,
One who knows what she wants and is pure.
She'll challenge me and make me grow,
And won't be afraid to let her own light show.

I long for a girl who's fierce and brave,
One who won't settle or be anyone's slave.
She'll stand up for herself and what's right,
And won't back down without a fight.

I need a girl who doesn't need me,
One who complements my life, not completes me.
Together we'll conquer the world with ease,
As equals, partners, and best friends, you see.

People say, “Home is where the heart is,”
If that's true then I am never home
Because you stole my heart
And now I am homeless
You stole my heart and lost it the next day
I have been trying to find it again for years
But I think I might just have to build a new home.
