Books hold the answers to all the questions,
to all the things in between
When feeling alone, scared, restless or curious
An antidote can be found in the words on the page
A strong willed child, al discouraged mother,
books can uplift and guide us
A lesson from those less fortunate
can restore and unthankful spirit
Open out eyes to the lives
and struggle of others.
Take our mind a world away
to ponder
Imagine things never seen
We are never alone within the pages of a book
stores live on
knowledge continues imprinted on our hearts

My feet do not feel steady under me
I feel as if at any moment I could topple over,
My mind is unable to keep a single thought captive
I want to cry, but I forbid it
Being strong is something I muster from deep inside
Something that often doesn't resemble myself at all
I want to believe, I want to believe I can trust
I want to believe I can be
Questions go unanswered in my mind
All the while I ask them on replay
Heartbreak is something that keeps me up at night
Something I want to run from
But alas you cannot run from such a thing
Being busy helps me push down my feelings
Being busy keeps my min misplaced
Drinking helps me forget

I feel a calm about me where a fire was,
A flame I tried to tame but its blaze was to bright
The fire burned anyone who got too close
and engulfed my spirit.
My mind hidden within the flames
the smoke clouding my steps
I cried out for rain
relief from my embers
On my knees and seared
I felt the mist and began to cool.
God was with me there
as He was all along
He calmed the fire and freed my spirit
My mind has been found and I can breathe again.

As I am traveling to the sea
I can feel it calling out to me
As soon as my feet sink into the sand
The sea is pulling me by the hand
I can hear the waves crashing on the shore
Suddenly my spirit begins to calm once more
The sea always does this you see
It's as if it cools something inside of me
When in the past there's been strife
The sea was there to help navigate my life
I wish the sea and I could stay this way
But for now I only have this day
Oh how I will miss it so
But far from the sea I must go

It was a perfect day
the sun shinning
there was a cool spring breeze blowing.
The air smelled of new buds,
fresh flowers ready to bloom
birds are chirping
singing their sweet songs.
All around kids are playing
their exuberant laughter
filling the air.

Looking at our picture
I can see it now
in your eyes,
the torment of what you've done
the horror of the pain you caused
but in the picture I'm smiling
I do not know it yet
my heart is still in tacked
our love flowing through me
So ignorant of the future
Looking at our picture
I miss that girl so free from pain
un-knowing of what's to come
Trusting with her whole being
Looking at our picture
that girl is me
but i am no longer that girl
