Face

I have seen you countless times
Through laughter and through tears
You were always waiting a friend for all the years
I recall the happy times we shared when you were young
Full of hope and sky high dreams
Until they came undone
Not a wrinkle nor a crease had ever touched you face
The eyes were bright the smile was true
All in it's proper place
Time has made a canvas
A picture for all to see
It's lines and shades have made you old
And took the best of me
But I'll stay with you and you with me
until the very end
Then we will close our tired old eyes
Until we start again

The Morning

In the morning I can see your face
The pain recedes gone without a trace
In the morning I can see you smile
Lets me know I'll be happy for awhile

I can feel the sunlight on my hands
Touching you I become a man
In the morning I can feel you die
That's the time I break down and cry

Follow me down, Follow me down
To a still point in time
Where you can be mine
Forever, in the morning

In the morning I can see your face
The pain recedes gone without a trace
I can see you praying in the night
Lets me know everything is going to be all right

Follow me down, follow me down
In the morning

Happiness

Greetings weary traveler of the realm
We welcome you with open arms and unconditional love
Gaze upon the awesome beauty of creation
Drink from the stream of forgiveness
While we the keepers of tomorrow
Cool your brow with the gentle breeze of compassion
Walk with us down the lane of eternity
Smell the sweet pine, taste the honeysuckle
You have traveled far through the ruins of the past
We have waited patiently
All those you have ever loved are here
Never again to regress
They call this place Happiness
Forever here you shall dwell
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust

Old Friend

Where have you been old friend?
Have waited so very long
To take your hand and walk with you
To sing our favorite song
So many years have come and gone
Yet it seems like yesterday
We would hold each other’s hands
To sit and talk this way

Where have you been old friend?
You left without a word
A shadow slipping into night
Not a sound was heard
Now you stand in front of me
Arms held out in love
Calling me into the light
Shining from above

Where have you gone old friend
Now it’s clear to see
A messenger from the other side
Sent to welcome me
Seems the years are over
My life is at an end
Alas where have you been old friend?
