A Shinny Star

I went to my door the other night I seen a star shinning so bright it looked like a angel standing there in the clear night sky it was so beautiful and shinny standing there the other night shinning so bright i know it was meant for me to see that beautiful star shinning so bright
the other night.

My Son

i remember when my son was 8 years old
he was a good boy
he would go out and find old tires to sell
so we could have something to eat
at the time it was hard four me to raising my kids all alone
with no one to help execpt my 8 year old son going out making money to give me
i love my children with all my heart they mean the world to me
i look out these days, you dont see 8 year old boys trying to help feed there family
instead you see 8 year old boys joining gangs and getting in trouble
i thank the lord every day that my son didn't join the gangs and get in to trouble.

Trees and Deers

Chop chop chopping down the trees in the forest
there goes a deer by the door
because they are
chop chop chopping down the trees in the forest

Away From Home

away from home away from home

cold and hungry and all alone

I'm five hundred miles away from home

i got my bag on my back and ill get started back

going down the rail road tracks with bag on my back

I'm five hundred miles from home

away from home away from home

cold and hungry and all alone

I'm five hundred miles away from home

if the train comes right ill be home tomorrow night

I'm five hundred miles away from home.

Country Roads

i walked down them country roads so many times
i wish i were there to walk down them country roads again
i miss looking at the mountains, the beautiful flowers, and trees
while i walk down them country roads
my mom and dad would sometimes walk down them country roads with me
i wish it could that way again but,
they are both gone to a greater land
one day i hope to see them again
my brothers and sister would sometimes walk down them country roads with me
i wish it could be that way again but,
my brothers and sister has gone to a land of love
i wish we all could walk together on them country roads.

Star

as i set here tonight
watching the stars in the pale moon light
there a star fell to the ground
i went out looking all around
and could not find the star that fell to the ground
as i set here on the on the ground looking toword the sky
so blue the stars shine so bright
i love to look toword the sky filled with stars in the pale moon light.

My Home Town

Sitting here in this old house
thinking about when i was a kid
and how it use to be
just walk outside my door and see
the beautiful flowers and trees
that is how it use to be
in the mountains in kentucky
that is where i was born in 1936
i really love harlen kentucky
my home town.
