A Rare Black Rose

A rare black rose has fallen
It can never again be risen
It grew amongst rocks and was never watered
Through it all it never whithered
It withstood all the harsh weather and storms
It was pleasing to look at but still had thorns
Animals passed by and trampled it at night
Still in the morning it rose like the sun
At times the wind shook it but it asked for a sign
A sign to show it will blossom for years to come
It faced a lot of deceit
Now it has bowed its head in defeat
Its petals have been blown in all directions
It stood all alone and no one was there to protect it
Animals do not stop to mourn at its fate
Butterflies have moved on to find another lively and fresh
If only l was there to nurture and build a fence around it
If only l opened my arms wide and protected it
l cry for the rare black rose
Let its pollen be dispersed by the wind
Let it rest from this weary world

...................This goes out to all the prostitutes who have lost their lives trying to put food
on the table for their families. Judged harshly by the world treated carelessly and overlooked

Faceless Friend

You are faceless in my eyes
l open them wide but alas
l hear your voice, l feel your touch
But your expression l fail to see
You walk with me you hold my hand
You even make me laugh
Still my heart is not fulfilled
l cannot figure out who you are
At times you are as perfect as an angel
At times your grip is too harsh and my hands are bruised
Show your face to me
Let me be the one who judges it
If you are scared l might reject you
leave it up to me to decide.
My heart is not settled when l have half of what you are
l lie awake at night wondering who the hell you are
A dark cloud descends on my head and it rains on me
Do you know how much it hurts to try to reason
But have no ground to reason on
You are faceless in my eyes
And l cant take it anymore

My Weeping Father

Oh my father my weeping father
There is this promise l make today
It might just make you smile
Your dark eyes may even shine with pride

Your labour will not be in vain
My success will take away your pain
Your wounds will be healed by your tears of joy
And your deceased heart will be ressurrected by faith

My father someday failure will flee with shame
Laughter will be heard from above
Unbury your head from the sand
And weep no more my king

All L Need

l have changed from a girl l used to be
l have lied not to hurt the ones l loved
The wounds are healed l can feel the pain still
l have hid my scars from this world

There are times when l feel like a child
Its like lm relearning to walk the path of life
And l desperatley need someone
Who would understand me take their time to hear

The wind blows at me
I hope you'll hold me close to you
And tell me l'll be fine
Its all l need right now more than anything else

My Consience

l have been running away from you
lam out of breath and you are right behind me
Sometimes you hurt me with your kindness
And l smile to say thank you and sigh a little
Its so hard to separate reality from the truth
To you truth comes first and l suffer
For having you as an eternal gift
One moment we are friends and another
l resent you face more than anything
l see you in my frame less mirror
Your Angelic face ask me why
l have run out of excuses and explanations
you and l were supposed to be one
But innocence has been stolen only to leave tears behind
The hands of time are not to blame
They are just there to move ahead
Your spirit could change this corrupted world
l hate myself for rejecting you when l sleep at night
the end is yet to come
and now l have learnt to understand your love
l cannot run anymore
l will let you take over my life
You and l will grow old together
As you embrace me in your arms

My Love

l had given up on hope
Now hope smiles at me
l look in your eyes and l know
That you truly love me
You said you want to be my friend
l want to be your best friend
You said you want to make me happy
l want to give you heaven and anything l'll do for you
lm not afraid to give out my heart
Give me all of you and l promise never to hurt you
You are in every breath l take
And l will always love you

Unchange Me

I stand still stunned by the way this world turns
Like a song lam carried along and l wonder
Are the best times yet to come or they have passed
l despair so confused by the waves of the wind
Sometimes l see my mother's smile
And my father dances to the beat

This world never stands still
Its wheels are always in motion
At times l appeal to stay the same
But lo my pleading falls on deaf eyes
And with shame return unheard

Change is good and change is bad
Should l go where ever lam carried by the hurricane
At times lm afraid of becoming an adult
At times l wake up in the morning and my heart says
Come what may.

Heartbroken Child

i heard her cry loud and clear
Scores of insults she took and not once did she complain
During the day she was the Diva
But at night she tossed and turned wondering why she felt so alone
She had no one to turn to not even herself
It could have taken a minute for the whole world to listen and comfort her
But everyone was in a hurry
So one Day she wrote a note
And the world was robbed of a precious Jewel

Homeless

lam a madman and my head is spinning
At times it feels like hell even when lm slpeeping
The claws of darkness deep deeply in my burning heart
My soul from me pleads to depart
My head tells me someday my numb lips will smile
And mornings to me will be divine
It rains harder on me then its snowing
In those days l hear God's voice calling
"Homeless man Homeless man stop your tears from falling"
All the poverty will be gone
Its just a matter of time

Careless Heart

l keep hearing my heart crack and its so hard to ignore
l thought l had found my one true love
The words you said sounded so true to me
You have hurt me and we havent even journeyed a mile yet
l cry and cry l dont know what else to do
l Should have listened to the advise of three wise men
Blinded by love l made myself a victim again
It just cant stop the cycle goes on and on
l gave you my all willing to take the risk
You had become a part of me
But now that trace has been swept off by the waves of the sea
lm so tired lm so weary
l remove that name tag "FIGHTING SPIRIT"
l have lost the flame to fight on
l just want to turn my back and forget about you
