Joy of Childhood

Yesterday, born a baby
Became a growing child
Through the tender years
Nursed by the glands of a mother
At the side of a loving father

I remember vividly
The look on their faces
Just at  the sight of me
Cos it welled up joy within
Though I never understood
What it meant then

But now I think I do
For the memories of once a child
Plays back like a Cinema
Before their very eyes
And this is the beauty of life
They behold every time 
For children are the joy
Of the present time
And the hope of better a tomorrow

To my beautiful daughter
The image and likeness of God
The cynosure of glamour
The expression of God's love
To a blissful union made in heaven


To my beloved daughter
Do not be sway by flattering lips
Neither be drawn away by looks
But be guided by godly counsel
From the words of your mother 
And the instructions of your father

To my royal diadem
You are what God says you are
Never accept anything less or more
For you are Uyioghosa
The glory of God personified
Destined for greatness


To my beautiful princess
Your dignity is your virginity
Your pride and uniqueness
Lies in your difference
For you are not like them
Cos you are the best


To my beautiful daughter
Love yourself just like God does
Respect, honour and obey godly elders
Treat people with kindness and rightly
Live peacefully and happily 
With yourself and others
