The Baby

The Baby flaunting a charming smile.
His eyes invite me to stay a while.
He seems to wish to share his light,
A world of purity and sweet delight.

Yet, I who know the shadows deep
Hold secrets that I would rather keep.
For,in my heart there lies a sting
Of dirty truth that life can bring.

Degrees of deception

Fake diplomas granted
Fake universities,certificates printed
Without academic trace.

Agents weave tales of degrees
Selling fake papers for lakhs

Fraudulent degrees
Learnings sacred ground defiled

A tale of Delhi's academic fraud
and elsewhere in India
A cautionary tale
Where credentials are
bought and sold

Oh God

Oh God,
come to me as a child.
May be my lowly mind
cannot recognise you.
Yet,
If you come
displaying your infinite might,
your infinite vastness
I am afraid
that will make me faint.

Spring

The Spring,
now a days
I don't feel her coming

That's why
sometimes,I go
farther and farther
in the countryside,
in search of her.

Her Silent Longing

The young woman returned home
with her baby
promised never to go back
to her husband's house.

But after some days
she left with another man.

Her younger brother adopted her son.
He grew up and got a goverment job.
After which one day he married

Then as an aged woman
she came quietly and wept
in a secluded room.

Time moves: a grandchild was born.
She would come quietly some times
to see the baby, eager to cradle him.

One day she was seriously ill
but her son from her first marriage
did not come to her bedside.

She died of the illness.
