Hollow Me

I don't show the pain inside. Not really hiding just always a torrent just beneath the surface. I smile, I joke, I live life the only way I know how. Everything I wish I had then, I still long for now. I give love, caring, patience, and time. I give my whole being to the ones I love. No one seems inclined to do the same for me. I want held. I want comfort. I want safety. I want peace. But alas I think it shall always remain out of reach for this accidental life. Born without purpose or plan by those that I should call mom and dad. I was a mistake, an unfortunate circumstance. Once the one they had planned, had purpose, had wanted was born I truly learned my place in life. To be forgotten, ignored. To be excluded, a pariah. So even now these many long years I feel the same. Lesser, unworthy, a hinderance to be avoided, never to be held, nor comforted, or made to feel safe.

I was mistakenly born unto this world, because of which I do not belong. Never to find that which I seek, so on until the next life I do endure to hopefully find my purpose, to find my peace.

The Night Is Long

The night is long…

I'm closer to sunset than I am dawn. The moon that lights my path has lost her way. As she finds her place, her path, I wander through the darkness alone. She needs time, patients, and love. I try but I'm so far away that I fear I can't reach her with my feelings. I sure hope my love and appreciation reach her and she feels as warm and safe as I do in her light. As my usefulness runs out and I become a husk of what I once was, I fear above all else that my moon will see how useless I truly am and won't have a place in her light anymore.

A Fool

I toil and push myself. Hide my pain. Both physical and emotional. Tell myself out loud that I don't matter. My pain pales in comparison to yours. I know I'm not good enough for you. So I accept any role I'm allowed to have to keep you in my life. Any label is fine with me. I'm a fool I know… a fool in love.

Me the Joke

Love is a joke. A joke that is found funny by everyone but me. I would say that I am unlucky in love but I am so often told luck does not exist, so therefore I must conclude that love is just not for me. Never shall I find a kindred who harbers the same emotions as me, never will I have that which I give. Only pain, hurt, ignored shall I receive. I have such a hole in my heart I have tried to let others fill but no takers have sincerely tried and never shall it be. Much to give I do, but none interested or want to receive. So alone in this hollow world I shall ever be. Draped in my sorrow for the tenderness that shall never be mine, but forever grateful for those that have accepted a pitiful soul like mine to exist in their bright and beautiful world I will forever be.

Home

I was always told that home was not where you hang your hat, but it's where your heart is. Home I have found is not a place that can be given an address, or pointed at on a map. Home is the warmth, and love you find in another's heart. You could be in the coldest, most inhospitable place but if that heart is there... You will feel a raging harth, the comfort of happier days. All because of a simple human heart... An exchange of feelings, a divulgence of trauma's, a regaling of joy, a telling of happiness. These are the foundations a home is built, not of concrete or stone. A house can be destroyed, a catastrophe it may be, but a home... If built correctly will last lifetimes. It's the bonds that are made that cannot be seen. Tapestries and fineries are nothing compared to the memories of a day at the beach, or the first time anyone had thrown a party for your birthday. Furniture? Ha! Pointless compared to a blanket lovingly crouched. I have never been monetarily inclined, but I am wealthy beyond measure in many ways that can not be counted or calculated. I have been standing in the same spot my entire life... Until now. Now I leave the past and all it's heartache and pain behind. I step forward with no assumptions, no expectations toward a better future. I don't know what may come but I know from this point on where my home is and forever will be.
