Abhor

Your ocean waves have,

Beaten me down,

Across the rocky shore,

As I lay facedown,

Thinking about our lore,

How nothing I did,

Seemed to even the imaginary score,

Nothing I ever did,

Seem to matter to you anymore.

My stomach will always be,

Too soft for you,

My presence will always be,

Too grating for you,

My love will always be,

Too much for you,

I could never be,

Enough for you.

So break me down slowly,

As you go,

Hold me softly,

To your soul,

I couldn’t be enough for you,

But neither my dear can you.

Being ignored,

Was all I had ever known,

So you became my home,

While I weathered a mythical storm,

Leaving me forever forlorn.

So break me down slowly,

As you go,

Hold me softly,

To your soul,

I couldn’t be enough for you,

But neither my dear can you.

All the daggers you threw at me,

We’re meant for you too,

They cut right through,

Leaving you,

Bleeding black,

From an open wound.

So break me down slowly,

As you go,

Hold me softly,

To your soul,

I couldn’t be enough for you,

But neither my dear can you.

Daybreak

You’re a quiet secret,
That I reply on my mind,

From time to time,

Making look a fool,

Smiling all alone.

On the backs of butterfly I fly,

Taking me high into the sky,

Leaving me to drift back down,

Amongst the clouds,

That peak through the sky.

Orange blossoms bloom against the green,

Covering what remains to be seen,

A friend may all you’ll ever be.

Well.

I guess we’ll see.

October 19

Diamonds and pearls twinkle in the moonlight,

Lost in a labyrinth of their own design,

The last of their kind.

I hurry through the maze,

In an futile attempt to find them,

And bring them back to me,

Bring back who they used to be.

Golden hair and kind eyes,

Peppermint candies and classic lines,

Sugar cubes hidden in seems,

All bring you back to me.

I didn’t appreciate them truly,

Until they were already leaving me,

Getting washed out to sea,

Never coming back to me.

They created the world I live in ,

As well as the labyrinth they are trapped in,

Both flawed and beautiful,

At least to me,

Unforgettable,

In every possible degree.

Five turns right,

Nine turns left,

I reach the centre,

Breathless and hopeless,

To deal with what lies ahead.

They have been engulfed by the maze,

Distracted by the haze,

Shine whittled down to dust,

Diamonds spewing rust.

I saw it coming from miles away,

And yet I still sit there,

Feeling numb,

Wishing for tears to come.

Everything has wilted and fallen apart,

Including their mind.

They truly were,

The last of their kind.

Insomnia

I’ve never loved you more than I have,

At stroke of midnight.

Falling a part in your hands,

Hidden under the shroud of moonlight,

Forever running from the sunrise.

Easy to hide,

In your twisted web of lies,

Hot enough to use,

But not beautiful enough,

To fear to loose.

Your secret kept safe with me,

From here until the end of the line,

Burning in an inferno blaze,

Blinded by the haze.

Your love for me,

Was simply a childhood fantasy,

I was something for you to play with,

While you bided your time.

Something fun, new

And unused,

Something you could truly make “mine”.

And I was so happy to be rescued,

I couldn’t see,

What was laid out plainly,

Before me.

That you would always use me,

And make me blue.

Take me for everything that I am,

Only to use love to clean,

The soul clenching wound,

That is still raw

And covered in glue.

But I will heal past you,

I know that to be true.

But that doesn’t stop me,

From loving you,

At every midnight.

Every single midnight
