Losing You

I’ve tried so hard to tell myself that you’re gone
But every cell in my body refuses to go on.
People tried to tell me you’re where you belong.
They don’t understand your existence is what kept me strong.

It was six years ago to this day.
That your eyes could no longer see me play,
and your ears could no longer hear what I had to say
The day you left, my world turned grey.

You held my hand through all of these years.
The day you left me I drowned in my tears
I’m screaming inside but no one else hears.
My heart is damaged beyond repairs.

When I dream about you I can feel my heart break.
When I think about you I begin to quake.
The day I lost you was the day I lost all oxygen intake.

A New World

I’m abandoning the world I always knew,
the one I built for me, and for you.
I’m walking out on smiles and shine,
to replace the agony that occurs with time.

I'm rewriting fate to my own consent,
allowing my soul to feel content.
I'm entering the world that I can control,
into eternal freedom, where I can be whole.

I'm submitting to a place you call unseen,
but I am acquainted to its regime!
I'm committing to who I want to be,
I'm letting myself belong to me.

I was weak but now I'm strong!
You thought I was helpless, but you were wrong.
I was before you but you inclined,
and now when you look, you will never find.

Once Upon a Time

There was a moment in time where I was content,
when you were my life and all that it meant!
There’s a vision of the past that bares your face
but today it shows me a desolate place.

These pictures that you see are of a life I knew,
And of all the bounty that I gave to you.
I still hear you telling me I that I am your soul
but now your absence restrain me from being whole!

Once I prayed to see your return,
when the fire of hope continued to burn.
I feel your presence every now and then
but I feel the pain you caused again and again!

Once upon a time when you were mine,
through my smile the stars would shine!
Take a look at the emptiness that I possess,
Stare into the eyes of my distress!

Know that once upon a time I was one.
Now you are the reason I am none!
