Lorrie Dentmon Poem
I'M SORRY MAMA
Growing up I remember coming home,
A little past the time you told me to,
A little late, a little scared all the way home,
Thinkin' of a lie to tell you,
Knowing anything I said you weren't,
Gonna believe me anyway,
I didn't want to disappoint you,
Guess I was ashamed more than afraid,
I'm sorry Mama,
I've always let you down,
When you're dreaming and you're sleeping,
I'm writing all this down,
The devil keeps me awake,
Sometimes for days on end,
But he can't take away my thoughts of you,
My babies, my paper, and my pen,
I'm so sorry Mama,
But mama will you make me just one promise,
Watch over them and the first star in the sky,
Remind them to make a wish,
Mama just one more thing,
For the little angels who lost their mommy,
Please be to them, what you were to me,
And please tell them, I'm sorry Mama.

TITLE: DON'T FORGET ME, LOVE MOM
DON'T FORGET ME, LOVE MOM
Wherever life takes you,
Whatever you grow up to be,
You'll always be in my heart,
No one can take that from me,
If my plans fall through,
And we never make it home,
I'll try to my dying day,
I'll never loose hope,
If the roads in life you take,
Ever finds you lost,
You'll find another way,
If that mountain can't be crossed,
God will never give you,
More than you can handle,
Whatever you question,
He always has the answer,
As you go through life,
Sometimes it won't seem fair,
Why some have it all,
While others don't have a prayer,
Just live your life right,
It doesn't last very long,
Say your prayers every night,
And Please Don't Forget Me,
LOVE, MOM

TITLE: DEAR CLASS OF 1987
DEAR CLASS OF 1987
RUSTY VANN CAMP,
WHY HIS NAME I'VE NEVER FORGOT,
POPULAR BY NO MEANS,
BUT I REMEMBER HE WAS PICKED ON A LOT,
I TRIED TO BE A FRIEND,
TO THOSE WHO HAD NOT MANY,
MOST OF YOU JUST PASSED HIM BY,
NOT THINKING HE TOO HAD FEELINGS,
I'LL NEVER FORGOT THAT MORNING,
WHEN THE HOMEROOM CLASS BELL RANG,
WE WERE ALL IN OUR ASSIGNED SEATS,
MRS. KRAFT WAS PREPARING TO TEACH,
SHE WAS INTERRUPTED,
CAUSE THE PRINCIPAL HAD AN ANNOUNCEMENT,
RUSTY WOULDN'T BE HERE TODAY,
BECAUSE HE 'D HAD AN ACCIDENT,
WE HAD A FEW MOMENTS OF SILENCE,
THOUGH NOT MANY DID IT SEEM TO BOTHER,
BUT I STILL HAVE THE NEWSPAPER CLIPPINGS,
WHERE HE HAD FLIPPED HIS VOLKSWAGON,
DEAR CLASS OF 1987,
HAVE WE ALL GROWN UP JUST A LITTLE,
AND DO YOU EVER REGRET THE TIMES,
YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE BETTER THAN ANOTHER.

Lorrie Dentmon Poem
EVERYTHING'S GONNA BE ALRIGHT
Mama don't you worry no more,
we're all doing just fine,
And don't cry mama, don't shed another tear,
we're old enough now to tuck our ownselves in.
I miss you, and so does bubby and sissy too,
But you left us alone too many times,
Mama we'll always love you, and everything's,
gonna be alright.
We knew something was wrong, but we were
just too young,
You used to be there all the time, you were
always there for us,
But mama we've done some growing up, Mama
don't time just fly by,
Mama we'll always love you, and everything's
gonna be alright.

TITLE: MAMA, WHAT DO I DO?
MAMA, WHAT DO I DO?
We've never really talked that much,
And I know I've never made you proud,
And I've always done things I shouldn've,
Mama like you said I'm regretting it now.
When you're young you just don't realize,
They say you just gotta live and learn,
You're gonna grow up someday,
But the hands of time just can't be turned.
I didn't appreciate you like I should've,
And you deserved so much more than I gave,
Now looking back I really had it all,
But I realized it just a little too late.
Mama, What do I do?,
Only you know what I'm going thru,
I know we can't go back,
And what I've done I can't undo,
Mama, What do I do?
I promise I'll be just like my brother,
I need you now more than I ever have,
Cause looking back you were the perfect mother.
P.S. Mom thank you, and from what's left of my heart,
I Love You
Cause now I know, You were a perfect mother.

TITLE: NEVER GIVE UP
NEVER GIVE UP
SO MUCH REGRET,
ONCE WAS A TIME I HAD IT ALL,
BUT ALL OF MY WEAKNESSES,
COULDN'T BREAK MY FALL,
I WANTED SO MUCH,
BUT ONCE I DID,
ONLY TOOK IT FOR GRANTED,
NOW ONLY GOD'LL FORGIVE,
KNOWING I DON'T DESERVE,
YET STILL ASKING FORGIVENESS,
CHOICES I MADE,
TORE YOU'RE WORLD ALL TO PIECES,
SO MUCH LIKE ME,
I CAN ONLY PRAY YOU'RE STRONGER,
NO MATTER WHERE LIFE TAKES YOU,
I'LL ALWAYS BE YOUR MOTHER,
LIVE EACH OF YOUR DAYS,
AS IF IT WAS YOUR LAST,
KEEP FOLLOWING YOUR DREAMS,
AND DON'T FORGET YOUR PAST.
