Sometimes I long to break down my walls and let them see inside but I did that just the other day and I’ve never felt so defied.
I let down my guard so they could see I’m not as perfect as I pretend to be. I hold on blindly to the hope that they will understand I long for tenderness and kindness, I’m really only human. Sometimes I long to hear silly romantic things I pretend to be a realist but I truly want to let my heart sing. I long to hear “I love you” I long to hear “you’re sweet” I long to be called the “most beautiful girl in the world” I don’t want to be seen as cheap. I long for these sweet, silly things that have become my dream. And when I can’t have them in life the thoughts roam my head in sleep.

As rain pours down and lightning flashes across the skies
I see the hurt and the fear in your eyes
You don’t know what to say
You don’t want to hide but you are afraid that I will leave you behind
If only you knew that I love, you for your scars
No matter how far you go or whatever you have done
You are beautiful to me and that will never change so please don’t run
You are beautiful, so beautiful
Though there is pain I can help set your heart free
I accept you for the way you are
You are beautiful to me
I know you are tired of fighting this war in your mind
So, take my hands and together we can fly
Doubts, anger, and fear, we can deal with it all
I’m not going to walk away and let you fall
You are beautiful, so beautiful
And that will never change
You have a passion that only those who love you can see
You have no idea how special and completely loved you are by me
Though time marches on and people change
You will always be beautiful to me

When early morning breaks and the sun shines through
Sleep flees from the eyelids and false fantasies are eschewed
When the dream ends and the music fades, we are left with harsh sunlight cutting through the mystery of the night
Wishing to continue our dreams we close our eyes and pretend to not see the light
We can only hide for so long and all too soon our delusion fades
And then we long for the ancient days when we were loved without a thought

What is love? Who can tell? Of what makes hearts beat and bosoms swell
It is like a dream strong and true that beckons with light and draws you through
It speaks with a whisper of a summer breeze
It is meant to be reverenced
Not laughed at or teased
It feels like soft rain falling in spring
Ah yes love is a wonderful thing!

It burns and rages with a deadly gleam
It is a passion hard to swallow
Danger is the path that anger follows
All sense is blocked when you are mad
You cannot determine good from bad
All fire and fury breaks loose in turn
When you allow your anger to burn

To do what’s never been done before
I felt frightened, I felt scared
Did I think too much or not enough?
But I stilled my doubts and pushed ahead
And did what had never been done before.
Whispers tense and harsh rain around my ears
Laughter only cuts when it looks down on you
But full of hope and having a dream come true
Inspires to push ahead and do the impossible
What has never been done before
In the darkness, in the silence
In the crazy and the loud
Through the struggles and the joy
Find a way to push ahead and do amazing things
Do what has never been done before.
And when you reach the top just take a breath and look around
Feel the pride from your hard work and love
Forget those clowns who said you weren’t strong enough
To do what had never been done before
