Flowers

Let my soul be laid bare
in the open air,
and let lovely flowers grow there.

From the Journal of a Mad Man

I am a man not at all eternal,
but eternally deep as my soul is rising.
I am devising my demise;
I am breaking my disguises with my own bleeding fists.
I am having fits of madness, and my madness is joy.
Oh, what joy there is in madness.
Truly, when you see the sadness for what it is:
God flipping coins over your head
and it is a coin with only heads,
while you keep making the wrong call-I tell you no tales,
these spells are for your ills, my friend.
Take my hand and swallow that bitter medicine,
for together we go into madness.
I'll light the way, for I tread here every day.
I have made my home in hell
and found joy at the top of my head.

Yellow

It's Warm,
and it feels good and yellow.
It's Bright
and bounces off your eyeball like a trampoline.
It's Loud,
and makes people howl and bellow.
It's Brilliant,
and glistens with a golden sheen.
It's Precious,
and nothing you have can buy it.
Its Hidden,
And it's in everything you see.
Its Simple,
and anyone here can have it
Its eternal,
And is as mortal as you and me.
Find it,
It was yours all along.
Sing it,
You're the one writing the song.
Live it,
and you'll find that it's worth living for.
Love it,
And it will love you forevermore.

The Silver Queen

Spinners twirling,
Silver swirling,
Conjured magic dinner plate.
Her eyes devising,
Hypnotizing,
Glittered, gleaming, polished slate.

She knits a dress
With silky tress,
She puts her prowess in the stitch,
And gives her guest
A lovely rest.
Her kisses halt the latent twitch.

She lays her head,
upon the thread,
and watching sky and sea and moon,
inquires whence about her prince,
and if he'll come to find her soon.

For when his gaze
upon her lays,
and legs creep onto bed and tomb,
Therewith his wife
craft pearls of life,
as he gives his to fill her womb.

Her children grow,
and briskly go,
on strings of air and brazen pride.
they sing goodbye,
and off they fly!
To calling wind, they all abide.

Her great delight
Is pale moonlight,
It makes her shining quilt unseen,
And brings a score
right to her door;
The lofty, royal silver queen.

Sharp Words and Regret

I hate to hear
that voice of fear
when It rises within me
So I rage and turn
the ice to shards of glass
and cut past all of it
into the bright blinding day.
But in the light,
I never say what I mean to say.
I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
I never know why
when you pluck,
I punch
and when you pinch
I batter through.
Anger was needed,
but I was so mean to you.
I never say what I mean to say
when that black thing has my tongue.
It uses my words-
Im good with words
An boy was I good with you when I ran you through.
I'm sorry
I'm sorry.
I never say what I mean to say.
I love you.

Dark

I am sure
that the stars don't shine
when nobody is looking.

Loveable

Love Able.
Ask Adam and Eve.
Ask If they would leave Cain; Alone and lost in the rain
like he left his brother to rot in the open air-
Who said life was fair?
Don't be Cain.
Be loveable.

Taste Me

Place me on your tongue
and taste me.
Take a vow of silence,
and close your mouth
so I cant get free,
Because neither of us wants that,
do we?

Death's Door

Isn't it just crazy
how we-
Yes, me and you
are going to walk through
Death's door one day?

We all will trip,
stumble, and slip
into an eternal void.
And we all try to avoid
so we bow and kneel, and pray.

And then we-
Yes, you and me,
Slide into a black
Unmoved because we lack the proper light.
Does that give you a proper fright?

Doomed: From the Journal of a Mad Man

Can I tell you a secret?
Every generation thinks their time is the last greatest struggle
and that their struggle will be the end of everything.
Every generation has its precipice and must choose whether to commit suicide or to survive and go on.
The more skittish men look up and panic! They scream, "THE SKY IS FALLING! WE SHALL ALL PERISH!"
Others that look at the world with more optimistic eyes say 'NO! If we all raise our hands together, we can raise the sky and keep it up above our heads! Tomorrow will come if we try!"
Others who truly know in their hearts that all is lost keep their peace and stay silent.
But the wise look on at all of this chaos and smile. They say, "Wow! I wonder what new sky lies beneath this old one? It must hold much splendor, for why else would it crack and fall?
Let us welcome what is being born over our heads.
Let us bear down and survive this falling, and when the chaos again subsides,
join hands and sing together under a brilliant new sky,
in a new time."
