Oadie Davis Poem
My mind is a forest
Deep and everlasting
A sea of green
Hiding the floors below
Every passing moment
A leaf emerges
And with it a new world
All in a thought
A clock strike, the next
With each passing breath
The air filled with poison
Of the purest kind
One moment, a spark
A light in the dark
Brilliant red spreads
Enveloping my thoughts
Its blazing, its beauty
My world its consuming
A sea of flames
Of passion alight
But slowly, it dims
Leaving nothing in its wake
But the husk of what was
And what will never be again
My mind was a jungle
My own personal hell
Once filled with life
Now only brimstone
My mind is of ashes
Only thorns left to thrive
The floors hide no secrets
Only skeletons it can't hide

Oadie Davis Poem
All my life I have lived in solitude,
Either shielded from the world in shame,
Or publicly displayed
But only ever acknowledged when I’m to be used.
My sole purpose on this dirtied earth
Is the bring back the worth
Of the seas and the birds,
But my time on this planet
Has taught me the fact that
People only care
If it’s them that in affects, in fact,
I’m meant to be used,
It’s my purpose, my worth,
Yet the greed of humans
Overrides their need to hurt me.
It only affects me.
Either I or our home,
Its one or the other,
Either me or the globe.
If you had to pick one,
Please use me for your waste.
The state of our planet
Is a well disguised disgrace.
So please.
Use me, abuse me, do what you must,
I look upon this world in disgust
At the actions of humanity.
If you must be selfish,
Make sure it only affects us.
Do not let the future generations suffer
Due to your mistaken trust in the efforts of others.
I may only be a bin,
But my purpose is much purer.
So don’t throw away your chance
At a better and brighter future.

Oadie Davis Poem
If I told the Universe of my love for you
He would feel ashamed to be so small
If the Stars were to gaze on your smile for a moment
They'd know even the brightest supernova would be dull
My brilliant Galaxy, you sent for me your love
In the form of a being so kind and sweet
Oh Starlight, you laugh and the endless sky holds its breath
You grasp my hand and suddenly I'm complete
When I told the Moon of my passion for the Cosmos
She felt sorrow for we could never touch
But when she saw the Stars fall into my arms
She truly knew the extent of my love
The heavens sing out for you, calling for their own
Yet here you choose to stay, our hearts forever intertwined
My divine darling, for you I would fight hells army
From brimstone I'd crawl if only to call you mine

Oadie Davis Poem
The flavor was scolding on my tongue.
One milk, two sugar,
It all started with an offer,
Now look at what I have become.
Hunched over a porcelain mug,
Sun long gone, brain alight,
Slender fingers tremble lightly,
Clenched around the bitter drug.
Figures move in the darkness,
I see eyes blinking from the walls,
Judging softly, as I waste my hours,
To the world only a carcass.
Voices screaming in my brain,
I cannot close my heavy eyes,
For if I do, If I give in to slumber,
I fear I’ll never wake again.

Oadie Davis Poem
God, if you’re out there,
Why is it that I spend my nights,
Drenched in sweat under candlelight,
Layered under tattered fleece,
Searching for a single deprive,
Of the horrors that lie behind,
My shattered and fleeting mind.
God, if you where there for us as you say,
Why is it that day by day,
I’m taught to obey,
The word of a being that
Never stays
By my side when I need him most.
Your word has robbed me of my will,
Killed my passion and instilled,
Prayers and rituals,
That claim to heal the mentally ill,
Tell them that someone is there for them.
Someone cares.
Someone listens, someone hears their cries,
Screamed into empty nights,
Of bitter hatred and lies,
Of a being that listens.
That there’s a plan for them.
A purpose, a meaning behind the nothingness.
A way they can rid themselves of guilt,
Provide them a way to confess to their wrongs.
God, you’ve let this world descend,
Into the hell you claim to protect us against.
Demons that lie waiting for the end,
Telling us they’re our friends,
But robbing us of our freedom just as you have done to us.
God, the demons were us all along.
The demons walk amongst us,
In the depths of hell, earth, and the heavens above.
The demons are us.
Are you.
You, you’re the one who instilled hatred,
Into a sacred book of outdated
Lessons that our generations took to face,
And put into place
Despite the harm it creates.
You’re the reason a child could fear,
Their parents will hear
Something that should bring cheer,
And yet may cause them to be abandoned,
All because they may be queer.
Just as you had done to us.
Just as you have left us.
God, if you’re out there,
You have failed the human race.
All you gave us were half hearted morals,
And the ability to hate.
You sent us your son,
A single man expected to undo what has been done,
To right your wrongs,
Fix your mistakes,
And yet that’s all you’ve ever done.
And when he failed,
You gave up.
That’s why, God,
I have given up on you.
