Think Again

You think someone in this world loves you?
Think again
From what you though were sunny days full of laughter and joy
Were actually cloudy days getting ready to destroy
everything you thought before, forgotten
left to linger and unspoken,
Think again
as glass shattering echoes behind doors closed
making you feel just as broken and exposed,
as bruises turn from black to blue
you realise plants that grew
happier than you
Why are they allowed the sun and rain
when for you everyday is pain,
Pain as you estrange
people you thought loved you
Pain as you shut the wooden door behind you,
and travel to a world you know to be untrue,
Oh but how you wish it were true,
Flowers that bloom from mystical maroon trees,
Letting you look away and forget the memories
of nights so dark that the brightest star was merely a seconds spark,
Days so gloomy that it might as well be dark
I once thought that someone in this world loved me
so I thought again.

Stars

He has the heart of a stoner and the brain of a book,
He's always searching but never knowing where to look,
He looks into fire with a gleam in his eyes,
He reaches a hand to touch it and when it burned he dares be surprised,
He's searching for happiness he said looking at the sun,
But he learnt his lesson last time that playing with fire isn't fun,

With bright twinkling eyes he counts the stars,
Saying he'll be done soon! and lets time pass,
When the sun goes down he looks up at the stars and counts,
Their twinkle brining joy to the sky making it look like there's endless amounts,
But he'll be done soon! he promised, just a few more to go!
But that night he looks up as he has done so,
He sees no joy to the blanket of dark,
But rather a space void of any light,
How he wished he hadn't counted up the stars,
And by doing so letting time pass.

Porcelain Face

The man with a porcelain face,
wore a smile for many days,
He didn't take it off not once,
wearing it for months and months.

One day he looked in the mirror,
and let himself snicker,
He took of the smile,
and pondered for a while,
What would they think if they saw his face?
would it be disgrace?
As tears flew swiftly down his cheek,
He thought himself a freak.

The man with a porcelain face,
somewhat of a disgrace,
No longer wanted to be pretending,
and just like a painting,
washed the mistake away,
to make himself feel okay.

He drew a new masterpiece,
A brand new face,
That he kept for centuries.

The man with a porcelain face,
walked out of the house barefaced,
Ignoring all the whispers,
That left his ugly face blisters,
The man decided to never again hide,
To help others by his side,
So they don't ever have to hide away,
To make themselves feel okay.

I Wonder

Sometimes I wonder,
What its like to be a bird.

Soring in the sky,
So very high,
Free as the wind carries,
Their small delicate bodies,
Away from the noise,
and the bright city lights.
Away from the thick air,
That they don't want to share,
With the creatures that assault,
Their beautiful large world.

As I squeeze past the crowds,
Blinded by the city lights,
I look up the the night sky,
And wonder what its like to fly.

Sing Song

Did no one ever tell you not to hurt a songwriter?
Now I may not be one but I do hold a similar power,
I may not have a voice to match the tune you've been playing for me,
But sometimes I wish you could open your eyes and see,
That no melody you play, or lyrics you write were made for me,
But rather someone you wish me to be,
Someone who can hold themselves on their own two feet,
Someone who's voice wont quiver when our two eyes meet,
Someone who knows what the next word in their sentence is going to be.

Now I may not be any of these,
But there must be someone out there you can please,
Someone who knows the difference between pink and magenta,
Someone who knows what's next on the agenda,
Someone who looks at the dark clouds and smiles,
And would never turn their back for miles and miles.

The melody's you make are like the sweet tunes of a guitar,
and makes you shine so bright just like a star,
But my tunes are a sacred harp,
Because I'm playing with my lungs and you play with my heart.
