Sing Song
Did no one ever tell you not to hurt a songwriter?
Now I may not be one but I do hold a similar power,
I may not have a voice to match the tune you've been playing for me,
But sometimes I wish you could open your eyes and see,
That no melody you play, or lyrics you write were made for me,
But rather someone you wish me to be,
Someone who can hold themselves on their own two feet,
Someone who's voice wont quiver when our two eyes meet,
Someone who knows what the next word in their sentence is going to be.
Now I may not be any of these,
But there must be someone out there you can please,
Someone who knows the difference between pink and magenta,
Someone who knows what's next on the agenda,
Someone who looks at the dark clouds and smiles,
And would never turn their back for miles and miles.
The melody's you make are like the sweet tunes of a guitar,
and makes you shine so bright just like a star,
But my tunes are a sacred harp,
Because I'm playing with my lungs and you play with my heart.
