Second Chance...No Thanks

Second chances are rarely granted
Wishes on stars are eternally chanted
I come to you in pieces to make me whole
I look into your eyes, but somehow see your soul
Your dreams of breaking out, being free someday
Searching for the answers, looking for the way
Encountering a light hidden so well
Likewise I’m hiding behind a mangled veil
My heart in your grasp, my innocence unused
Your hands I take in mine, callused and bruised
A moment of harmony, yet the note struck hard
The eyes of your heart are broken and marred
Use me once and I’m yours to discard?
My trust in you is forever charred
Now I’m hiding my scars yet you see them too
But what you don’t see, is I've been scarred by you

Memories

Closet doors seeking more
Forever closing their sleeping eyes
The cat crawls out from under the floor
Caked on dirt and mildewed scars
Apparitions running free
Poltergeists lynching onto me
Friends and enemies coming together
But who really knows the difference
Serial killers run about
Using my name as a grand hideout
Hiding away losing the day
As if it doesn’t matter to me no more
Who cares, shut that door!
Before they come for more
Entertain these thoughts of my dear old aunt
Put her to sleep with a solemn goodbye
Oh and by the way Sammy says hi
Says he wishes he could be found
But he’s writhing on the ground
From being cast out like an discarded toy
When will you realize he’s part of your life?
Even though your childhood may not be

To the One Who Can Heal This Heart...Kudos and Good Luck

Lingering memories don’t fade away
Shadowy figures leading the way
Your mind always opens bleeding the past
The scars never healed and the pain, it lasts
The wounds being opened time and time again
Holding your hand and letting go again
Saying one thing yet doing another
You’re giving up on a heart that loves no other
Why is this happening, why won’t you let go
Quit pulling my strings and just show me where to go
My mind is spinning heart thrashing in my chest
I have no more pieces so I’ll just gather what’s left
Moving on is always the hardest part
Although when you’re gone I’ll finally have a heart
It’s gaping with holes this I know
It’s been used and abused and put on for a show
I was praying your hands would be the healing type
But the remains fell through them as you walked on by

An Elegant Catstrophe Deserves a Tremulous Rebirthing

He says they’re perfect, though I anticipate disaster
A lover’s loss becomes a lowly patron’s cherub
This hand that he holds isn’t ever enough
So he searches for his ultimate completion
She sighs as she ponders, her mind runs erratically
Reminiscing the days elapsed
Adoration in her eyes, passion thrashing in her soul
She searches for his heart gone askew
A demanding presence disturbs his mind
With thoughts of her and her delicate heart
Her lingering passion flickers fervently now
As the truth is growing shamefully valid
The thoughts he must convey swim in his mind
Yet not one word dares pass through his mouth
Her tears must fall to reveal the blank reality
Still she defies her trembling lips
Not one word said, no move has been made
An aspiration is destroyed, yet a desire obeyed
He clasps her hand and holds her close
She swallows hard trying to moisten her throat
A passionate kiss upon her trembling lips
A covenant repaired through numerous hardships

Blue

Blue skies and butterflies
Accepting blues clues with heroine blood
True blue occurring once in a blue moon
Smurfs snack on blue raspberries at the blue dog café
While blue and magenta attend a wedding
With something old something new
Something borrowed and all things blue
Blue collars and Canadian dollars
All with a cold blue tint
Cold blue steel and sheet fire engulfing
The blue green earth while
Indigo flowers shall blossom blue
No more

Scream Your Heart Out

Isolate the pain from the reckless recluse
The mist missed your face and landed on your shoes
The souls of which are troublesome and used
You must understand this isn’t your hand
Anymore
Than this is my life
The wonder in your eyes,
The question on your face,
The memories you once held dear,
You’re looking around as if you’ve never been here
The leap of faith that you must take
Will bring you farther than any belief
You can fake
The book’s in your face,
The pen’s on the ground,
Looks as if your story
Can never be bound
The gleam in your eye,
The bounce in your step,
The glint in your smile,
It’s all so flagrantly vile
Scratch a new record
But it’s already on file
You can’t keep going
But He’s begging you please,
Scream your heart out for one more mile

The Soul of a Romantic Cries Communism

With a poet’s soul and an opened door
From his heart the words begin to pour
Rhetoric drenched with romantic edge
Sobering reality at its best.
His rhythm and meter, all steps in time
The beating of a heart the soul of a mime
Feelings of love, desires of peace
Dreams of brotherhood and perfect unity.
The fire that dances within his soul
Spins your mind and gains control
Pushing and striving, reaching out far
Grabs your attention, begins to spar
Engrave this now in the chambers of your heart
These words, this rhetoric will always set him apart

Transformations Arising

Here I stand with decisions before me
Poisonous thoughts infiltrate my mind
Mystic euphoria from a non-existent utopia
Stimulates my senses and taunts my soul
Intervals becoming utter abominations
Inhabitants becoming exasperations to my life
Meditating on thoughts that seize my mind
A treacherous sight arises in horror
An almost spiritual phantasmagoria
Clenching my fists as these portraits unfold
Whimsical feelings once felt in the past
A line to be crossed, limits to be pushed
Indulge in the feeling of something new
Awaken the soul of my being departed
Brush off the chains, rusted and defeated
Embrace the change transpiring within

Take My Hand

Take my hand show me where to move
Pulling your strings feeling so confused
The rubber is hard yet somehow smooth
Teach me please how to tie my shoes

Untitled

Her lonely heart weeps with anticipation
As she talks to the spirit of the lover she once knew
Confused but jubilant she’s going with peace
Content but disheartened, we wait in tears
Don’t cry for me, she says, for I won’t be far
Wails of loneliness heard all through the night
Cries for her late lover they are
Missing him so, she’s more than willing to go
It’s time to grasp hold of dear memories for life
And to let her lonely soul, go in the night
