A Virus

Just how it comes out in writing poetry.

An invisible virus grips our life
An invisible problem causing so much strife
A visible wear and tear on the mind
A visible wound to human kind.

A virus of rage, anger and despair
A virus in the mind, body and air.
A virus of the soul
A virus of control

A virus of lossed life
A virus of financial strife
A virus so small
A virus so tall

A virus of love and care
Will cover the despair
A virus of empathy in mind
Will recover human kind.

Mosaic of Life

Shards of glass all around
Broken gems, sharp and profound
Picked, glued and retained
Artwork, colourful and framed

Life is a mosaic of broken glass
Memories retained, glued, amassed
Your gems are unique, profound and glued
Colourful, beautiful and viewed

Mosaics will look different each day
Sometimes bright, sometimes grey
Life is about glueing your broken gems
A journey of applying colour your way

Our Little Enemy

The walls of this beautiful world are breaking by the day
Raining shards of glass down like the suns rays
Society is at a standstill, time ticking away
An invisible enemy is fiercely at play.

A virus so small but big in every way
Is eating society like a lion does to prey.
The remains left over is what society will have to reap
With those less fortunate will struggle to earn their keep.

The world will heal with bandages and wounds to show
But will not be the same world we used to know
The fog of uncertainty reaches far and wide
But we must have optimism and positivity on our side

Love and empathy must win over doom and gloom
As we see in spring with new flowers in bloom
The world is coming out of a long frightful dream
To a new sunrise, a light of beam

A virus so small can make us big in every way
How big will depend on our thoughts of the day
Love, respect and empathy must win and stand tall
Over an invisible enemy, a virus, so small

Thirsty

If I could paint the perfect picture of love
It would be a picture of God above
My time has not come yet to see his face
But until then I can live through his grace.

I am thirsty to be the best I can be
As you watch down on me in glee
I am thirsty for my soul to be set free
Of any dark shadows left in me

My empty heart is open to let God inside
To locate and cover those scars that reside
I am thirsty for your words, your touch and hand
That only you God can command

I am thirsty for friendships and love
With you God guiding me from above
Not lust, but the power to connect at the soul
And be one, together, with God, whole.

I will become the best steward I can be
With you God in me
On a path of your choosing
that will reflect the best of me!
