In the stormy sea, barely alive
I manage to stay afloat
Sometimes going under, sometimes catching sight of land
Yes, stormy seas make strong sailors,
or, drown sailors
I make it to shore, bruised and battered,
and crawl my way out
I sit here and watch the sun rise
I begin to feel the warmth from the rays

The sun shines briefly then disappears
Taking my mood with it
Breadcrumbs of hope dissipate as hours tick by
disappointment kicks in again
I want to be excited about something
Not always fighting to survive
I will only tolerate the burn for so long
Before I put out the flame
