Dancing Through the Ages

I've Danced Through Many Ages, to Many Sounds On Many Stages.
I've Prepared For Those Who've Come To Town.
I've Smiled and Leaped and Never Came Down.
I've Worn Costumes That Had Laces,
I've Spent Hours Applying Make-Up
While in Far Away Places
There's No Applause to be Found,
When The Final Curtain Comes Down..
The Silence Can Leave You Deaf,
Once The Audience Has Left.
The Theater I've Always Called My Second Home.
With Other Dancers, or On My Own.
Friends You Make While In a Show,
The Contract Ends and Off They Go.
No Matter The Circumstance,
Nothing Makes Me Happier,
Then Just To Dance. 5-6-7-8

The Front Row

Waiting Anxiously To See,
Choreography Created by Me.
Where Did It Originate From?
I Can't Say That I Really Know.
Music Seems to Provide The Flow.
At First, I Might Do It a Certain Way.
The Next Time I Might Add a Sway.
Will It Meet My Approval?
Only If The Dancers Dance
Better Than Their Usual.
Dancers Say That I'm Hard To Please.
Just Dance Full Out, Don't Just
Give Me a Tease.
Make Every Step LIVE.
Show Me All That You Have To Give.
I'll Be Watching, IN THE FRONT ROW.
Dance From Your Heart.
Show Me Passion, Emotion, Let It All Go.
Make Me Feel Something Beyond My Expectations.
Capture Me With Sensation.
I Want To See You Glow.
Thats Why I Chose To Sit In
THE FRONT ROW.

The Swing Song

The Creak of a Swing, Caught in the Breeze,
Pushed by a Friend With Gentle Ease.
Listen Next Time You're Near,
to that Familiar Song
from a Childhood year.
The Chains Tangle, Then Snap Free
as You Kick to Touch the Branch
of the Nearest Tree.
Knee's Pumping, Climbing High as
you Dare to go.
As You reach Bottom,
You Just Drag a Toe.
One more pass, THEN, Just Let Go.
Think of the Thrill, Remember Still.
Summer Days Oh So Long,
When You Hear the Creak of a Swing,
STOP for a Moment, Your Youth is Singing
THE SWING SONG.

It Must Be the Shoes

It Must Be The Shoes, it must be the floor.
I'm at the audition and enter the door.
I think I'm to small, but I'll wear my flats
so I won't fall.

I'm dancing Center Stage. Pirouettes make me crash into others,
this sends them into a rage.
I should know my stage directions.
Move downstage toward the Mic, I better figure out my left from my right.

I pulled my hair back and wore my best tights. Point your toes dancers!
This is going to be a long night. I warmed up at home and stayed focused
on the way. I got new Head Shots, but I forgot them today.

Look at my extension. See how high I can leap.
Now just keep smiling and land on the beat.
I can't believe how I'm perspiring. They announce that there will only
be one that they will be hiring.

Sequins, feathers and G strings too,
if I get this job, You won't hear me complaining
IT MUST BE THE SHOES!
