The Swing Song

The Creak of a Swing, Caught in the Breeze, Pushed by a Friend With Gentle Ease. Listen Next Time You're Near, to that Familiar Song from a Childhood year. The Chains Tangle, Then Snap Free as You Kick to Touch the Branch of the Nearest Tree. Knee's Pumping, Climbing High as you Dare to go. As You reach Bottom, You Just Drag a Toe. One more pass, THEN, Just Let Go. Think of the Thrill, Remember Still. Summer Days Oh So Long, When You Hear the Creak of a Swing, STOP for a Moment, Your Youth is Singing THE SWING SONG.
