And So Much More

I'm giving Thanks for the ones I adore
They give me hopefulness,
 Love
And so much more
It's clear from my smile
That's for sure

My Five New Year Resolutions

TO BE MORE AUTHENTIC
because sometimes I don't say
And then it just eats away
Sometimes I might resent them for it
Or maybe even ignore them for it
So next year I'll just try to deal with it.
TO GIVE MORE OF MY TIME
When I see a familiar face
won't rush off with such haste
remind myself to give another minute
To make more small talk
Be more approachable,
and slower in my walk
TO BE MORE ENCOURAGING
Give a friendly smile
Maybe sit down,
and talk for a little while.
GIVING MORE COMPLIMENTS
Won't shy away from feeling
And show more sentiment.
TO MAKE MORE TIME FOR ME
By creating something with my hands
Or supporting another with their plans
More sunny walks with my pooch
Or Delighting in a romcom smooch.

Got Stuck, So Rewind

Gone back in time
Another segment of life
Got stuck, so rewind
Was there a lesson
I forgot to learn
ignored it probably
Feel like a mockery
I'm still none the wiser
Stuck in limbo
Can't let things go
But can't progress
With what makes me feel less
The facade we show
The logic and truth
To big to digest
A seed of doubt
Washed Enthusiasm out
What if I get stuck on pause
And don't find the meaning
Or purpose or feeling
Just something I ponder
When I let my mind wander

Gut Instinct

Go with your gut instinct
Don't force communication
Keep them short and succinct
Don't fool your emotions
They be alluring and distinct
Doesn't mean there's a link
If feeling a bit on edge
Leave it on the ledge
Ain't gotta make no pledge
If they constantly make you think
The feeling just ain't right
Don't give it any fight
Stay out of their sight

A Beautiful Breeze

Comfortable spaces
Familiar places
So much effort
Same old faces

So uninspired

This way of living
Kind of restrictive
Barely giving
Repetitive going ons
To waste the day
Uncreative being this way

So uninspired

Passions tamed
Subdued interest
Going about it
Lacking zest

So uninspired

Go with the motion
Practical thinking
Rub out imagination

So uninspired

Things to do
Places to be
No time for that
What's for dinner?
Can we?

So uninspired

But unrelenting
They will not cease
The imagination
A beautiful breeze

Switch of the Telly

Switch off the telly
Calm the nerves in your belly
Release the stress from your head
Don't worry about what they said
Accepting ourselves though there are things we lack
To have a purpose and give something back
To be accepting of others our sisters and brothers
It's to share warmth and laughter, that's what we're all after
Breathe in the fresh cut grass, don't worry about the size of your arse.
Soak up the sunshine, feel it warm your bones
We will survive five minutes without our phone's.
Kick back and relax in your fuzzy socks and crocs,
I'll do the dinner, mashed potato and lamb chops?

Little Red Robin

He dances around without care in the world
darting from one place to another, spinning in a twirl

I look for him in winter but the trees are all bare
still looking and listening wondering if he is there.

At Christmas he will be out singing his song
with such vibrant colour he wont have to wait long

He is back for spring the courtship is sealed
Now he can relax his duty is fulfilled
For food is plenty and her belly will be filled

His song brings me peace
His colour brings me joy
His adventurous spirit gives me hope
Putting my worried mind at ease.

Where's That Noisy Honk-A-Donk

I'm the noisy honk-a-donk
Now shuffle over I need somewhere to plonk
That's not quite comfy, make a little room for me
Hey move your feet!
I'll plant myself here in the middle of the bed
Now that's better for my furry head

I'm Free as a bird so unencumbered,
I'll have to be quick my minutes are numbered
Ohh, what's that I smell its got my attention
Run with such vigor
I must release this pent up frustration!

Aww their sticky hands are such a treat
There's got to be more here
I won't give In to defeat!
I'll sit here gracefully shell hand over that sandwich
Or I could just take it from the little hand
No that won't work, then she'll snitch.

Ahh, here he is my bestest friend
No, he really is I don't need to pretend
He makes plenty of room for me on his pillow
We share a bond over our love of crisps
and gaze out the window
I tell you I've tasted all kinds of flavours
But I have to say my favourite are quavers
Mind you I'm pretty partial to a tangy cheese dorito
They even do spicy burrito!
But those salt and vingar chipstix
Get me into all sorts of trouble
eSending eme into a sizzling B
ubbling frenzy transfix .

Crap ! what now , ihde me she won't see
uBt it's too late she

ust have heard this onisy honk-a-donk bbbreathe

Mum, Mum, Mum

Their Angelic giggling smiles
Our witty conversations
Adore their inquisitive minds
Sacred, innocent personalitys
His character full of integrity
Subtle and refined.
Her, so bold and unapologetic
Lots of mischievous jesting
Your bickering drives me crazy!
When we are in our bubble of silliness
And we're giggling like children
When we shut out the world
And completely ourselves
This is pure awesomeness.
And there it is again "Mum, Mum, Mum"
Ohh the weariness.
I cherish their enthusiastic hugs
They give me a gleeful motivation.

The Christmas Party

Smoothing down my velvety grey skirt
My fancy cream blouse
I feel so clean and smart
A warm glow shines
From within my heart

Rosy cheeks and sweaty palms
Too much running
And fun to be had
Scooped up high in safe arms
Love the feeling of being carried by dad

Those rough diamonds
Warm smiles and lacquer in hair
if I'm to be getting upto mischief
Nothing can get past their watchful stare

The joyful music
Lingers on in the air
Faces so happy
An hour or two no worries or cares

Sitting in rows we wait for jelly and ice-cream
Excitement brewing, my mind it paces
Is it really him, the mystery
The awe on our faces

What will we get the anticipation
It's my turn now, I'm up
Without hesitation
Love every minute of this celebration
