Like the slow burn of the sun on a hot day, My love was betrayed.
Like the slow burn of ice as a wet hand is holding it, My love was betrayed.
Like the slow burn of wax from a candle, My love was betrayed.
Like the slow burn of your lips as they touch another, My love was betrayed.
Like the slow burn of your meaningless words, My love was betrayed.
Like the slow burn of a bullet as it pierces the heart, My love was betrayed.
Yet....still, I yearn for your betrayal of love, if not for just one moment, to feel your....slow burn.
