My Morning Drive

Pristine crisp, clean morn

Crescent moon floating above

A monochromatic wintry scene,

Frosty crystals clinging atop

Rolling, sleepy meadows,

Rugged white peaks all round,

Lush conifers – jet black, set against

Soft pastels of blue,

Venous deciduous with bouquets

Of birds leaving their tops

Like petals drifting at will

Upon a lazy, summer stream

Afar, wispy crimson marks the

Direction a lover rests, in wait of

Of a new year and new beginning

Passages

Oh lover, mine
 How I yearn those
Early days when all
  Glances were those
 Of lovingness and
  Longing,
Choices and belonging
now cold stares,
 dank passages
   Of unknown thoughts
Fill our space
   We once embraced
As lovers paired

Where Eagles Dare

In my dreams, freed
are my tethered feet,
unencumbered, above I soar
   where eagles dare,
        effortlessly,
      in a world of
sugar dusted mountain tops,
   where oh so sweetly,
 whispered, airy breaths
    gently lift me
  higher and higher
above anything imagined
       on earth

Snow On Cedar

Snowflakes cradled upon
          cedar boughs
nestled for all to admire
   wondrously reminiscent
of generations past and present
         timeless cycles
    captured in moments of
        quiet tranquility

Us

hand in hand
we have begun a journey;
    soulful exchanges
      self and lover
    world and nature
    tenderly, openly
     supportively
 flowing... integrating
growth, love, and trust,
         becoming
             us

Free Alas

in the shadows
my spirit
yearns to be free,
to fly away
at a moment's notice
ne'er to be owned
    by anyone
    or anything
to perch upon the
    highest tree
 atop the highest
     mountain
away and beyond
    free alas

Joy of Being

Onward and upward
        beyond grief,
  amidst hope,
        quiet resolve,
solid and resourceful,
spirited, strong, soulful,
driven by the force that
brings flowers in the spring,
the cry of a newborn,
and the immense joy of
            being

Snowy Meadows

Wintery, cold winds

    Sweeping and flowing

Across spring and summer meadows;

Dreamily tucked under snowy blankets,

Strong, bold shadows dancing upon

   Crystallized, cool white drifts,

          Crisp, clean worlds,

Endless in depth, individuality,

        substance, and imagination

The Gathering

As the morning frost recedes

     life abounds all around,

              In wait;

yellow grasses, shrubs, maples, and oaks

      promise an impossible,

         spectrum of green,

    birds of every sort gather

            in celebration

  their sweet melodies carried

        by a cool breeze

             beckon

new life, new hopes, new dreams;

           new possibilities

    in this intimate moment

             of all time
