Where Are We Headed

Where are we headed? I know not where
Where are we headed? I know not why
Where are we headed? I know not how
Where are we headed? I know not to whom

Is it better to know or not to know?
Is it better on my own or with you?
Is it better if you come to me or I go to you?

Wonder is an aphrodisiac that may lead me to you
Surprise is not enticing but it may lead me to you
Uncertainty is terrifying yet exciting and it may lead me to you

Where are we headed, me and you?
Where are we headed? hopefully not to doom
Where are we headed in this world and how will we bloom?

Aftermath

Aftermath

You found me naked and alone
You found me unprotected
You fed upon me, your unwilling and unwitting victim
You fed upon me, your unwilling and unwitting prey
You ravaged me
You ravaged my life
You ravaged my body
You ravaged my heart
You ravaged my soul
Your presence is scorched upon my memory
Your presence is scorched upon my body
Your presence is scorched upon my soul
You no longer exist in the world
You will always exist in my world
You will always exist in my life
My worldly belongings you devoured
My home you devoured
My independence you devoured
My health and wellbeing you devoured
My safety and security you devoured
My life you devoured
Carnage was your gift to me
Carnage of my body from your toxic breath
Carnage of my soul from your avarice
Carnage of my heart from your voracious appetite
Carnage from the countless traumas that you inflicted upon me
Carnage as you fed upon my soul, my life
Carnage as you stole everything from me
Carnage as your long, hot fingers licked over my life
Carnage, destruction and devastation were your gifts to me
For one long, horrifying and unbelievable year I fought to stay alive
The aftermath of surviving your visit, your attack, your victory over me
Several long, dangerous and terrible industrial strength treatments I needed to fight death
Ongoing, compounded trauma I needed to fight in the aftermath of you
My lungs were dying from your toxic smoke
My body was dying from the illnesses you wreaked upon me
My body was dying from the treatments that I needed to fight death
My heart was shattered in the aftermath of your visit
My soul was withered in the aftermath of your visit
My body was entirely crippled from the traumas, in the aftermath of your visit
Yet as I fought, so many times, to stay alive
I was still able to smile, to laugh, to love
I was still able to keep joy in my heart
I was still able to focus on a happy future
I was still able to believe that I could recover and to believe that I would recover
I chose to fight
I fought with my mind and with my body
I fought with all that I had in me and I fought with all that I did not have in me
Nobody expected me to survive
Nobody expected me to recover
Nobody expected me to be independent
At my weakest I forced myself to fight and commit to intensive physiotherapy
At my weakest I forced myself to fight and commit to intensive occupational therapy
At my weakest I forced myself to eat, I forced myself to move
At my weakest I forced myself to do what I needed to do
For long and painful months I fought and fought some more
For long and painful months I fought to rebuild my body
For long and painful months I fought to rebuild my home
For long and painful months I fought to rebuild my life
I still fight and fight some more
Against all odds I am whole
Against all expectation I am restored
Defying the facts of my reality and defying belief
I am alright once again
I am independent once again
Your are seared upon my memory
You are seared upon my flesh
You are seared upon my heart
You are seared upon my soul
Against all odds, I, like the Phoenix have risen from your ashes
Against all odds, I, like the Phoenix have risen from the ashes of my body
Against all odds, I, like the Phoenix have risen from the ashes of my life
My heart and soul sing once more
My life will be better than before
I have beaten you Morton Bushfire
I have escaped your carnage and your grip
Black Summer Bushfire, I won
Black Summer Bushfire, I too am fire
I was forged in the aftermath of you

Words, Words, Words

We cannot live without words
Words express who we are
Words convey how we feel
Words convey what we want
We cannot live without words
Words, Words, Words
Words can be fun
Words can be flirtatious
Words can be frivolous
Words can be heavy
Words can be light
Words can be loaded
Words can be empty
Words can be wry
Words can cause fright
Words, Words, Words
We cannot live without words
Words can be playful
Words can be harsh
Words can be cruel
Words can be comical
Words can be lewd
Words can be sexy
Words can be scary
Words can be exciting
Words can be evocative
Words can be intoxicating
Words can be pretentious
Words can be painful
Words can be inviting
Words can be inclusive
Words can be exclusive
Words can be barriers
Words can be bridges
Words can be full of potential
Words can be full of promise
Words can be damaging
Words can repair
Words can be hopeful
Words can carry despair
Words tell the world who we are
Words, Words, Words
We cannot live without words
Words can be loving
Words can be kind
Words can be critical
Words can be hateful
Words can make you cry
Words can make you laugh
Words can make you love
Words can make you leave
Words can make you stay
Words can bring you back
Words, Words, Words
We cannot live without words
Words can be harmful
Words can be delightful
Words can be used uniquely
Words can cause dismay
Words can bring disaster
Words can bring glee
Words can make life gay
Words can be bright
Words can be grey
Words can be black
Words can be bleak
Words can be poetic
Words can be joyful
Words can be sad
Words can be simple
Words can be complex
Words can be clever
Words can be cunning
Words can be cutting
Words can be confounding
Words can be limiting
Words can be limitless
Words can be vague
Words can be precise
Words can evolve
Words can be overwhelming
Words can make enemies
Words can make friends
Words, Words, Words
We cannot live without words
Words are beautiful
Words are magical
Words are wonderful
Words are powerful
Words are profound
Words are purposeful
Words are pure
Words are provocative
Words can pierce your mind
Words can pierce your heart
Words can pierce your soul
Words can pierce your memory
Words can cause wounds
Words can heal anything
Words can heal everything
Words can be anything you want them to be
Words can be anything you make them to be
Words tell the world who we are
Words, Words, Words
We cannot live without words
Words matter whether you love them
Words matter whether you loathe them
Words matter whether you do not care
Words matter especially if you treasure them
Words can bind you
Words can free you
Words tell the world who we are
Words, Words, Words
We cannot live without words

Knot of Life

My knot of life I keep you with me
When times are bleak you remind me
That I am right where I need to be
Wherever I am upon my journey is now the right place for me

My knot of life you keep me grounded
When I need to remember that I am okay
You show me that my path is right this way
My fears and misgivings you allay
You remind me that I am on my way

My knot of life your paths are many
These paths they wind, separate and rejoin together
Where to start is one choice from many
Which fork to take I must decide and know that it is right, wherever
You remind me that I am on my way

My knot of life allows freewill
Although I know upon my right path is life’s will
I am always exactly where I need to be
To have the life that is right for me
My destination is always the same place

My knot of life you ensure
That wherever I travel
Whichever way I choose
Even when I fall, I cannot lose
Even if I stumble
You keep me grounded and humble

My knot of life wherever my journey begins
Wherever my journey takes me
My path is sure
My path is right
I am always right where I need to be

My knot of life you let me feel
Whichever path I choose is real
However long my path becomes
My journey home is not surpassed
My place is always held fast
My knot of life you tell me that I’m home
My knot of life you remind me that I’m not alone
My knot of life you take me home
No matter where or how far I roam
No matter if I lose my way
No matter how from my path I stray
Along my journey there is no regret
Like a loving hand holding mine every step of my way
My knot of life you take me home

Agape

Plato said that we are one soul halved
Agape is the name for love
Your soul whispering to mine
Your soul reflecting mine
Your passionate embrace feels like home
Your heart is healing mine
You want to give to me
I want to give to you
If only you had the courage to follow you heart
If only you had the courage to trust your heart
If only you had the courage to honour your heart
My prayers are for your happiness
My inspiration is our rare and special love
My solace is agape
Two souls found each other
Two souls wanted each other
Two souls trying to bind together
If only you had the courage to let two souls reunite as one

Our Last Thoughts

We live life as we choose
We construct who we are
Our thoughts are our own
Our values must guide us

We choose if we’re happy even when we are sad
We choose if we honour ourselves
We choose if we honour others
We choose if we honour love

Our last thoughts need to bring us comfort
Our last thoughts need to remind us of love
Our last thoughts need to remind us of joy
Our last thoughts need to bring us respite from the pain
Our last thoughts need to remind us that we chose the best we could
Our last thoughts need to remind us that we knew what mattered
Our last thoughts need to remind us that we lived the best we could
Our last thoughts need to bring us peace
Our last thoughts need to be of love
Our last thoughts need to be glad

Laugh Every Day

Humour is the salve of life
Humour is a light in the darkness

Laugh every day
Wash your cares away
Laugh every day
Make your world okay
Laugh every day
At the smallest thing
Joy into your life it will bring
Laugh every day
No matter what life brings
Your heart will sing
Laugh every day
The clouds will lift
Laugh every day
You shall never be cast adrift
Laugh every day
Your puppy will make you laugh
Laugh every day
Someone will make you laugh
Laugh every day
Something will make you laugh
Laugh every day
Read something funny
Laugh every day
Watch something funny
Laugh every day
you don't need money
Laugh every day
If you look you will find something funny
Laugh every day
If you listen you will find something funny
Laugh every day
Your life will always be sunny
Laugh every day
Gloom will not consume you
Laugh every day
Especially when it is hardest and you need it most
Laugh every day
The darkest days are when you need it most
Laugh every day
Joy will bloom

Humour is the salve of life
Humour is a light in the darkness

Nature

Nature is Life
Nature is living
Nature connects us to life, to the earth and to each other
Nature is Elysium
Nature is profound
Nature is ethereal
Nature makes me smile
Nature makes me joyous
Nature makes me glad to be alive
Nature excites my senses
Nature delights me
Nature confounds me
Nature is a Wonder
Nature is beautiful
Nature is wonderful
Nature is surprising
Nature soothes my soul
Nature grounds me
Nature calms me and restores me
Nature re-balances me
Nature lifts my spirits and brings me peace
Nature makes my heart and soul soar
Nature saves me from being glum
Nature is a light in the darkness
Nature is a gift to us all
Nature is to be savoured
Nature is to be protected
Nature is to be respected
Nature is to be enjoyed
Nature might be seemingly overlooked but its radiance still touches you
Nature might be undervalued but its harmony still balances you
Nature might be ignored but it does not ignore you
Nature might seem distant, but its beauty will delight you and is everywhere if you look
Nature reaches us all in discreet ways that are enriching no matter how small
I love Nature
Interacting with nature keeps me and my puppy healthy, fit and happy
I am glad every day for the Nature in my world
I am glad that every day the abundance of Nature is part of my world
I am glad every day that the joy of Nature is part of my life
I am glad that even when I am poor the riches of Nature abound and are free for all
Nature is amazing
Nature is glorious
Nature is ever changing
Nature is a Mystery
Nature is Magical
Nature is important in my life
If you have not spent time in Nature, please do and you will discover that it is one of the best things that you can do for you
Pay attention to the Nature in your world, your day, your life and it will make you smile and make life better, every single time

Faith

Faith is what you want
Faith is what you see even if others do not
Faith is what you see when others can not
Faith is what sets you free
Faith fades but never dies
Faith is all important to you and me
Faith can be lost and found again
Faith keeps you growing
Faith keeps you blooming
Faith is best kept when your grip is loose
Faith will guide you to the best version of you
Faith will guide you to the best life for you
