Sometimes It's Best She Doesn'T Know

I tell my mom everything I want her to know,
She knew about my pain and what I had left to show,
She knows I hate when she hugs me because it hurts too much inside,
She knows I try so hard to never lose my Chicano pride,
She knows I'm so much like her and my dad,
And she also knows when I need a push just a little tad,
She knows I only cry when it truly hurts,
And she knows how much I hate when a friend blurts,
She knows I am so loyal and without me my friends would fall,
And she knows how much I wish I could always stand so tall,
She knows I'm scared of marriage and more of divorce,
She even knows I hate the fact that she moved me here by force,
She knows I'm not so innocent anymore,
And she knows I'm not the same little girl she use to hold when I was sore,
She knows I really do admire her even though it doesn't show,
But there's always little secrets my momma doesn't know,
She doesn't know how much she drinks truly makes me hurt,
and she doesn't know that her criticism makes me feel like dirt,
She doesn't know how many times I wished she'd disappear,
Now all I want is to always have her near,
She doesn't know I hate myself for making her feel so low,
And I know that being so much like my dad takes away her happy glow,
She doesn't know that to forget I drink and smoke,
Just another influence she left upon me to invoke,
She doesn't know I'm scared to really fall in love,
Because I don't want to be like her wishing him all the pain above,
She doesn't really know the extent of my love I have for her only,
But maybe that's because I move so fast in life I leave her all so lonely,
She doesn't know I try so hard not to be like her,
But I have to face it I am my mother's daughter,
I told my mom everything I wanted her to know,
But the lies caught up to me and look at what I have left to show

Still Love You

The way I feel for you,
I felt it all my life,
When I see you my heart stops,
As soon as I see those perfect eyes,
Your smile makes me love you even more,
I feel like I'm floating two feet off the floor,
You mean the world to me,
I'll see you only through my eyes,
I know you might not feel the same way I do,
but it doesn't change the fact that I will still love you,
I wish that one day you can see me for my love,
Not someone who is there just to bug,
I'll give you my heart,
I'll show you my love is real,
I love you so much,
Just give my heart a little of your touch,
Give me a chance,
To share my love with you,
I'll show you how happy you can be,
If you accept to be with me,
Whatever you choose to do,
Will be ok with me,
I just wanted to tell you how I really felt,
Either way you choose I'll still love you,
No matter what

Racism

Why are people like that?,
They discriminate against others,
They treat people like trash,
Just because they're not the same color,
They say stupid stuff like they don't care,
They like it most when the person is aware,
They enjoy making someone experience pain,
Even if the person is just plain,
They don't care if they hurt your feelings,
Even if the pain or words make you cry,
They enjoy you being defeated,
They think they are better but they're not,
We all are equal in my eyes,
May not be the same color, culture, or race,
We all were made by the same person,
He made us all unique in a way,
Don't you think he would say it was wrong,
That we should be together and not far apart,
We should try our best to make the hatred go away,
Because if we don't it will be here to stay

I'M Done

I'm tired of waiting to see if you'd respond,
The pain has caught up with my already broken heart,
You seem too scared to make a move,
While me I've been running to get to you,
Why can't you try to make this thing work,
I've been running myself to the ground to see what it was worth,
Apparently you think this is all just a game,
Me just here to stupid and willing to play,
I couldn't believe I trusted you with my feelings,
But when it came to my trust you said, "Too bad, forget it",
I thought you wouldn't hurt my heeling heart,
In a way it wasn't all your fault,
What you did was worse that hurt and distrust me,
Now in my heart there's ice srystals where there use to be flames,
You made me lose hope that I can be loved,
So if I can't love I blame you for all the hurt above,
You're the cause of my warm heart being frozen,
Too numb to feel a thing,
You never once let me try to be near your heart,
Now I guess someone else can play that part,
You broke my heart once,
You broke my heart twice,
The third time will be yours instead of mine,
Because everyone says the third times the charm,
Last thing left I'm all played out,
You've lost my love without a doubt,
We can't be friends or even lovers,
I'm done so we no longer have each other

Hello Sun

Bye-Bye Moon,
Hello Sun,
Ready for the birds to sing,
Ready to wake the children,
Starting a brand new day with your light,
Come on Sun open your eyes,
Stream some light into their rooms,
Put on some coffee,
Smile a big smile it's your time to shine,
Come on little critters time to wake,
Today is going to be a great day

A Sad Farewell

It's hard to know it's our time to go,
That next year we won't belong here anymore,
It's hard not to look back,
It's hard for us not to stay,
A teardrop falls from everyone of our eyes,
We'll miss the teachers, the lunches, and the fun,
Maybe we'll even miss the homework when we're gone,
One thing we're sure of is that this place has made us better people,
We won't forget this place when we leave,
We won't forget the teachers who taught us all we know,
This place and the people in it mean so much to us,
The main thing we learned is to always be ourselves,
With a last look back we'll take what we were taught,
and show everyone what we're made of,
We'll remember how we got to this point,
All the people who helped us get here will always be in our hearts,
We'll thank the lord and his son Jesus,
They let us be in this most magnificent place,
This place might not be as big as others,
But it was the place where we all met each other,
We'll keep all the special memories in our hearts,
and the people who made them special will be there too,
We'll always be friends forever no matter what,
We'll all be together again soon,
One last step till our time to go,
We all walk out with sad faces instead of smiles,
One last hug and a kiss on the cheek,
The last good-bye and the wery last glance,
We cry as we all depart,
The sadness leaking into out hearts,
Farewell we say with our voices full of sorrow,
Good-bye because we won't be back tomorrow

I'Ll Miss You

I'll miss you at night,
and even through the day,
I'll miss you when I read a book,
and sometimes when I see a play,
I'll miss you whenever I can't think of what to say,
I'll miss you because you're sweet,
and always full of joy,
I'll miss the way you inspire me to write a funny poem,
I'll miss you when you're gone,
and not here anymore,
Most of all I'll miss you a lot,
and that's what this poem is for

A Good Friend

Finding a good friend is hard,
A good friend is a friend that is loyal,
That will be there when you need them the most,
A friend that is willing to share secrets,
A friend that will help you through tough problems,
A friend that you can help when they need you,
A friend that you can depend on,
A friend who you can trust,
But last of all you have to be a good friend to have one

You'Re My Mom

You're the best I could ever have,
You make me happy when I am sad,
You give me what I need,
and patch me up when I bleed,
You give me all your love and understanding,
Sorry sometimes I can be so demanding,
I appreciate all you have done for me,
I like the way you let me be free,
You always show all your love,
and when I need you buy me dove,
I know I act real bad,
and always get you all mad,
But today I want you to forget it all,
Today's Mother's Day so have a ball

Because of Him

Why do I feel so alone?
Surrounded by many yet the feeling continues
I realize now I’m being tested by Him
But still the feeling can be unbearable
I love, live, laugh, and still feel immense pain
Who do I feel so unimportant?
I was made by Him and He loves me
But still I feel abandoned
I realize He’s testing my strength
How long I can go without real happiness
Why do I feel so distant?
As if no one really wants to get near me
Showing me something is really wrong
Telling me I need help
I realize He’s always with me day and night
Why do I feel so scared?
I feel like someone is after me
I’m being watched every moment
Curled up in a ball under my covers
Afraid to have an ounce of contact with the world
Why do I feel so confused?
Not knowing what I really want or what I’m looking for
Trying hard to be someone everyone accepts
I know He’s taking care of me all the time
But still I don’t know what’s happening
Why do I feel so sad?
With tears rolling down my eyes
Closed up in a room with no one to help
Something so sweet taken away forever
And not feeling loved or even spoken to
Why do I feel so mad?
So pissed off at the world for everything
Trying my best not to lose control of myself
Wishing I could easily fix my problems
But He knows if I do wrong so I don’t
Why do I feel so unloved?
One after another they left and didn’t look back
Leaving me with emptiness and despair
But He loves me and I know this
Because no matter the feelings I have
I am blessed
