The Great Escape

The concept of an escape is...

...to escape in my own thoughts,
...to escape from my thoughts,
...to escape; however, ONLY in my thoughts.

Lullaby - In Memoriam

She heard if faintly
fading into the background;
and subconsciously,
she's familiar of its presence.
Unbeknownst to her
she's humming to the melody.

The hook plays a recollection.
With every repeat,
it brings out a memory.

Hook: It sang of a happy moment.
Hook: It sang of a conversation.
Hook: It sang of a pleading embrace.
Hook: It sang of a last farewell.

By the end of the song, it goes on REPEAT.

The music lingered
in between sobs and greetings,
keeping her company
in moments of the night's stillness.
But on the tenth night,
the music played a diff'rent tone.

When the record broke,
so did her heart .
When the music stopped,
so did YOU.

The Call ---- Your Call

The motive of the plan
     mapped in my hand
     has brought this man.

An answer to a wish,
     a momentary bliss,
     has led me to this.

Then, struck by a single call,
     which he threw it all,
has led me to THIS fall.

God, help me to dismiss
     the mem'ry of the kiss
     that has touched these lips.

His last spoken words
     that can't be unheard
     have made my heart stir.

The promise of a possibility,
     now can never be,
     has caused me to flee.

Blue Room

The Paint in the room is getting in your skin,
while the silence is slowly wearing you thin.
These Sea walls would soon come crashing on you
as the Waves of emotions have come to swallow you -- whole.

Whole, you once were before you crawled into this hole
that fed on your fragile heart and languid soul.
Shadows in the corners are closing in.
I've lost sight of you from where you've been.

I'm lowering a rope with a Hope that you can hold,
Hold on to it 'til He'll pull you out into the Light.
After seeing you all frightened and Cold,
with heavy broad strokes, I'll paint these wall with something Bright.

A Day In the Life: Rj

Morning springs,
when daylight breaks,
when alarm bell rings,
for me to wake.

Day begins
with oblivious staring
and endless pondering
for an idea to set in.

Day proceeds,
going through cyclic motions,
going at languid speed,
to reach its conclusion.

Evening falls,
ending earlier endeavors
welcoming quiet stupor
as nighttime drawls.

Movie In My Mind

For weeks, I've played on repeat
the future which have turned bleak
                 to realize from a dream
we've thieved from a Before scene.

Fool's Game

Her:

   "I speak...
these words that bridge the gap between our seats
closing in the distance which my fingers could not reach.
             They cling onto your sleeves.
Now, a part of me will be
with you even as you leave."

Him:

   "I write..
these messages that I may feel your presence
            despite the undeniable distance.
'SENT,' the word plastered on my screen,
which carry the weight of the feeling
the moment the other end screams 'SEEN.'"

Her:

   "I savor...
the taste of each delicacy that touches
my sensory buds with your every trial.
A feeling of foodgasm trickles down my chest
as I'm swallowing the my jealousy and denial."

Him:

   "I burn..
all my desires and pour it onto the plate
just to satisfy your finicky palate.
With cuts and burns I hide with every trial,
just to see your gratifying smile."

Her:

   "I smile...
at the world we have inside your car
as the rearview narrows to a point from a far.
But my lips draw into a line when I'm struck with reality.
The conversation drone on all about her and not about me."

Him:

   "I clutch...
tight with the disappointment that I feel,
as my fingers grip the steering wheel.
The engine halt mirrors the sigh of my defeat
knowing it isn't you on my passenger seat."

Mirrored Souls

Me to you, reversely, you to me — a reflection of the mind, heart and soul as mirrored on the glassy expressions of our identities that we both try to find and conceal. With each word streamed out of consciousness and into the ocean of our thoughts, a revelation of natural connection took form. Even in the moments of stillness there is an understanding unparalleled. The meeting of minds in the silence which speaks volumes rippled from two masses bound. Together, we’re held by the gravity and depth of the inner understandings. And yet, moved by the current where true connection lies.

An Acquaintance With

The mechanics and its doing,
     the thought process in place,
the origin of thinking
kept me searching for its trace.

The unsettling feeling,
     the stirring at the core,
the magnitude of fearing
     caused this emotional downpour.

The mind and heart reeling,
     the tremors on my body,
the fabric of my being
     shrouded in fear and anxiety.
