You'Re More Than a Smile

I know you had mentioned
You don't want to waste my time
Yet you have my attention
Because your beauty is like a poetic rhyme

Your eyes sparkle with kindness
Like the seas of the earth
Only a man with true blindness
Will never see your worth

Because deep behind those eyes
Is a fragile yet loving heart
And you guard it which is wise
For it is one of God's greatest arts

For your heart is like a precious song
It's melody is not heard by deaf ears
May your heart stay ever so strong
With God's help throughout your years

And remember you're more than a pretty smile
You are a woman who has elegant style

A Child Meets a Ghost

It is the middle of the night
My eyes open slowly
Fear strikes me in the moonlight
As I look at something unholy

It stands there staring at me
As I shake with anxiety and dread
For this ghost that I see
Must be from the house of the dead

This creature is horribly ugly
With razor like claws
It’s teeth are sharp and hungry
With large wide jaws

The outside night light
Shimmers off it’s skin
This is truly a fright
As it shows a hideous grin

It gets close to me and then vanishes away
As I hear my mother’s footsteps in the hallway

The Heart Is Your Greatest Ally

Can you see the light of day
In your deepest darkest hour
Look within and find your way
And release your greatest power

Your heart can be such a fragile thing
But it is your greatest ally
Deep within there’s a song to sing
That is ready to run and fly

Take everything bad
And release it from your heart
Don’t allow it to make you sad
Or it will rip you apart

Grow in spirit and in love
And water it all with peace
Let it flow until it’s not enough
That your love will never cease

So let your heart fly far and high
To become a light that fills the sky
