Her

In the deep deep shadows
Of a dark dark night
A girl walks the face of the earth alone
As if pulled by a string

She doesn't know where she's going
She doesn't know where she's been
All she knows is what waits ahead
Because of whom she is

People stare
And people mock
But the young one never stops
She knows something they don't know
And something they never will
And so she carries on

She goes as far as humanly possible
And then she walks some more
For she remembers the tale
She was told long ago down by the shore
Her mother had said 'My child listen closely
I will tell you of a land
Where you can find peace
Where no one cries

And no one lies
No one mocks or shouts
A place where one can only go
If one has no real home
A place where you can be free
A place where you can roam
Somewhere you can be yourself
With no one to judge you for it

So my child
When I am called home
Walk as far as long as you can
And discover this place once more"

But her mother left
And she desperately needs
An escape from the life
She left behind
The pain not even the drugs could hide

And so the young one walks
And disappears forever more
For she has gone on to the place
She was told by the shore.

From Rachel To Ross

It's not your conversation
That keeps me entertained
But rather the way you look at me
That makes me feel sustained
It's the curve of your lips
And the curl of your hair
T'is all of the little things
That makes me stop and stare

It's not your intelligence
That drew me close to you
It is not your sense of humor
That has thrown me all askew
It's the touch of your hand
And the thoughts in your head
T'is all of the little things
The things that don't get said
It's not your vivid history
That's made me fall in love
It's not your comprehension
Of the world or what's above
It is your soft temperament
And the way you smile at me
T'is all of the little things
That make me want to see

It's not when we are talking
That I want to know some more
It is not whilst you teach me
I learn what I'm looking for
It is the time we spend alone
And the time in utter silence
T'is all of the little things
That form a strong alliance

It's not the job you work so hard
That shows your true commitment
It's not your crazy habits
That give me great fulfillment
It is the way you use your hands
And the way I have been chosen
T'is all of the little things
Why I know silence is golden.
