Ali Moss Poem
Tree canopy
Thick and green
Full of singing birds
And chattering monkeys.
Thick underbrush
Rustles at a touch
Be careful what you eat
It could be deadly.
Rushing rivers flow
Thousands of plants grow
Animals right where you can’t see
A wonderland to me.
A distant whirring sound
A tree drops to the ground
Where I once heard monkey’s chatter
Now I hear machine’s clatter
Chop Chop Chopping
More illegal logging
Don’t they understand
This is my wonderland?

Ali Moss Poem
From fire, ash and ambition
From an unfulfilled mission
From a place of scorched solitude
We rise again
We redo, retry
We refuse to crumble and die.
From the broken parts
We open our hearts
And rise again.
