Call of a Daisy

Where do you go, O lover boy?
With a heart crushed into pieces
A body that is deprived of spirit
And a face filled with creases.

Come along, and sit on the meadow
See how my chums dance with breeze
Gracefully swaying their fine stalks
Playfully attracting the busy bees.

Tell me boy, what aches you inside?
What makes you cry and weep in grief?
I'm Daisy, the harbinger of spring
I can bring you merriment and relief.

Oh dear! Don't pluck my petals
It hurts my soul, it gives me pain
For the sake of your love
Who doesn't reciprocate the same.

Look at the canopy of azure sky
Lend your ears to the rolling streams
The melody created within the sphere
Is more bewitching than it seems.

In rainy days and stormy nights
When squalling wind cuts through us
We stand together bleeding heavily
Only to put a smile after the muss.

We all get cut, we all get ripped
We all get healed, fixed and cured
Boy, this is the tedious tale of life
Relish every moment being toured.

A Letter To My Love

A letter to my love

To; the love of my life
Spare me some of your time
As I'm heading too far now
Let me tell you in a rhyme.

The days we've spent together
And the moments we lived
Are confined to my memories
Which can never be released.

Reminiscing about the dreamy summer
When we were strolling along the shore
With our fingers tightly intertwined
Craving each other more and more

The joy we shared at the thought
Of getting drenched together in the rain
Was the most precious of all
That kept me going despite the pain.

Autumn was extremely mollifying
With the leaves turning golden and red
Settled down in our cosy arm-chairs
The astounding artistry of nature, we beheld.

In the darkest winter night
The solitary woods were filled with snow
But I felt a warmth in my heart
Was it your love that I know.

Remember the day we danced gaily
On the notes of a tweeting bird
You robed in a white floral gown
"Magic of spring", we whispered.

Darling, it's time to confess the truth
I've been hiding for so long,
Afflicted with an incurable disease
Can't battle with it another year long.

My heart torn apart by the news,
My hopes shattered one by one
Then you stepped into my life, sweetheart
And all my sadness and anguish were gone.

By the time you receive my letter
I won't be there to hear back from you
Forgive this craven if you can
For my love is eternal, pure and true.

Shurvi

Shurvi

Shurvi was still an infant
Who knew nothing about her sin,
For being born a girl child
She was the cause of her parents' chagrin.

People turned their faces away
Relatives poke fun at them
A girl was born, not a boy
Oh! What a disgrace, such a shame.

As the time passed by,
Shurvi learned to walk on her feet
Joined the school amidst the lads
With a determination as hard as concrete.

Shurvi has turned twenty by now,
She must go and conquer her dream
Chose the army against all odds
Something for which she was keen.

Served her best in the military
Earned the noble badge of honour
A moment of pride for her parents
As loads of blessings showered upon her.

Here comes our valiant little Shurvi
Cheers the crowd and the clan
Standing tall in her army uniform
She proves herself no less than a Man.

Nyctophile

Her wonder at the moon comes back every night.
When she is staring at the sky with her eyes wide open,
gazing and sinking into stormy contemplation,
musing on human life.

The moon reminds her of the faded memories.
Days when she used to feel alive, cheerful, gleeful and
now all her youthful exuberance has departed her soul already.
Life is hard.
Harder than it seems.

She could feel the pain in her heart which she is bearing for eternity.
She is in agony.
There is no way out.
No way to wash away her misery.
Everyday she craves for a fresh new beginning.

But when she looks at the blue and the shining stars,
an alluring smile starts caressing her soft lips.
Music plays inside her head,
the rhythm of the boulevards does hypnotize.
All the negativities now disappears.
It's the night sky that makes her feel better.
It's only because of the stars and the moon,
she could carry on in the game of life.
After all she is a NYCTOPHILE.
