Apoorva Dixit Poem
Reclining in her squishy plush arm chair,
flipping through the pages of her childhood fantasy book
she gazed through the broken window of her dreams
incisively to see the hidden sun amongst her dread.
The indispensable question hung in her consciousness
When did the ambitions she so longed for cease to exist?
The vivid, striking, radiant pages of her journal showcasing her
Entire life were mere memories just to be seen.
She grinned like a Cheshire cat slowly left her sanctuary of memories
Packed her bag, started her car and drove miles and miles
Till she witnessed each and every place in the world
Which no one had seen before.

Apoorva Dixit Poem
Sitting on a stone my hands brushing against the cold water
I gaze upon the night sky searching my reason in the heavenly bodies
floating up in the universe...
The secluded life which I had chosen away from all the hustle
and noise of the humans, was it a wish to attain peace?
In my heart I truly new that it was a way to escape my past.
But is any human capable of doing that?
I did forgive him, but has forgiveness ever lead to forgetting the truth?
No matter how far you run, no matter how much we admit to move on
The day we had that quarrel where I saw his real unmasked face
can never be obliterated.
The moment your whole life is declared a lie
you loose your purpose.
In the forest near the river I now live my life in complete solitude
this is how I imagined it would be.
And the present is alluring.

Apoorva Dixit Poem
I loved you and in return
You gave me pain
And still do and will continue to do so
I gave you this power over me
I silently endured the pain
Using it for my writings
Because for people in this world
Pain is better than contentment.
I used this pain as my inspiration
Went through hell alone
But this had to end one day.
I am the only one who has control over me,
I am going to be my own inspiration
Because darling I am not a cigarette,
Which you can puff and throw.
I am the creator who can melt your glow.
We all create moments in our mind with the way
We perceive reality
It maybe non existent for the other person all together
There is a reason it's just a memory
So that you don't make a home out of it
And live in the moment being invincible.

Apoorva Dixit Poem
The gravity of her question turning my insides brown
Her seeking the truth slowly destroying my fragile crown
I gasped for air trying to compose myself
How do I tell a child that her mother has been taken, a truth so heavy buried in our darkest shelf
Her only crime was raising her voice
How could she be equal to the great man who runs our life
To defy the every being of an egoistical clan
I uttered the most dreadful words in our land
"Your voice is a truth the world needs, my dear"
She grinned from ear to ear
Knowing deep down the lies I told for her to live another year
If only I could muster the courage to challenge the blatant atrocities,
Slowly eyes wandering to my inflicted permanent disabilities
Questioning everyone who claims to be the beacon of peace
Deep down still hoping for the suffering to ease
