Porcelain Skin, Ceramic Hearts

Canvasing the world as we solder metal bandages to wooden wings

We attempt to cover pain by silencing what our scars sing

A noted tension with a vulnerable assist

Showcases hope and a life we refuse to resist

The porcelain skin that encompasses our ceramic hearts

Shatters with words, fragile from the start

We attempt to grow strong and bring misfortune to rest

Never acknowledging our torment in life’s daunting test

Powerful stances and barricaded walls

Provide the illusion of safety from the inevitable fall

We torture our minds with grace and self-worth

A future and freedom promised at birth

Together we provoke sanity and justifying results

But solely we fail due to committmentless faults

Pressure is applied for us all to do right

Causing the misery to show only at night

We lie restless, we toss, and we turn

Contemplating all failures and lessons we learn

Memories and dreams driven by desires and needs

Pose as the trough through which our fiction feeds

Obtaining the most out of life is what we all want

Hoping when we die it’s not viewed as a meaningless stunt

A Historic Event

Bullets grace this darkened night sky of mine

Lights flash above the stone encrusted walls

Tragedy strikes as my commander dines

Without remorse as his blood servants fall

The rain weeps in pity for all dead souls

The outcome seems dark, a desolate end

Crossing the hairs for fellow armored ghouls

A flicker of hope explodes as they fend

The parting clouds permit a weightless sign

Reversal of fears encompass the sky

As our commander rises to feet

Hoisting a victorious flag up high

Cheers erupt through enemy defeat

A promising sight of a needed win

Surpasses the cries of murderous sins

During battles of defending strongholds of medieval castles

Parting Scars

Clasping my hands, I air a prayer

Beg for forgiveness, with no one there

Falling to knees, crosses dangle from throat

Feeling warmth, provided by an invisible coat

Safely and securely, I lie humbled in bed

Thanking the lord for all the blood he has shed

Careful not to take advantage of endless wish lists

My scars fully fade on my porcelain wrists

Conversing dreams of passion and hope

Weary not to fall victim to life's atrope

When I feel no one is listening

That no one cares

I feel the clouds part

Revealing my fully answered prayers

Porcelain Skin and Ceramic Hearts Stanza

Trough of Life

Memories and dreams driven by desires and needs

Pose as the trough through which our fiction feeds

Obtaining the most out of life is what we all want

Hoping when we die it's not viewed as a meaningless stunt

Loose Trance

Observing scratches atop a writers’ desk
Pages torn and faded into excess
A horrendous call of pain and plea
A desperate attempt to silence need
Empty scrolls of desolate fiction
Convert blank canvases to remorse and affliction
Sitting, staring at my voluptuous muse
Pondering the coverage of the ubiquitous news
I reside loosely in a trance, but translucent to you
Eyes glazed in after-life, blood filing into uncomfortable shoes
The reality sets in on what is proceeding
No reversal nor stopping the floorboards from seeping
Falling through the gaps of the basements’ ceiling
Staining the memories, left for revealing
Lifting your body through the threshold of home
The finalized result of that first cast stone
Begging for forgiveness, a treacherous toll
Kill or be killed, by my torturous soul

New Baby

Today is the day
They say last in the batch
A new child coming
A nine-month-long hatch
Assisted by fear of unknown
But love and affection
A rowdy bunch of offspring
A welcomed collection
Boy or a girl
Is yet to be known
But joy and anxiety
Fills our busy home
A powerful play
For a family of four
With open arms we welcome
A baby once more

Love Is

She makes me hotter than the sand when you first remove a sandal

She's without a doubt my life's future preamble

This Is Halloween

The blood-curdling screams through children cringing

A creaking voice of caskets unhinging

Vampires feasting in a paralyzed scene

A diabolical hell for an abduction fiend

Masses of wolves, mobsters and ghouls

Utilize debauchery and tricky on common day fools

With a hero or alien carrying flashlight to follow

The cautionary fright causes a sandpaper swallow

Clowns with grand smiles, smashing pumpkins that wallow gleam

A full night of terror on a chilling Halloween

Nation of Mistrust

As the leaders begin their power stride

A communion of separate opinions is established

Through sacrificial disgust, the sense of mistrust blossoms

Weariness of our commander, promotes our nationwide slander

Blazing off the political grease which clogs our arteries of need

Through the desire of greed, we all are victims of the lies

Misguided by the flapping flag

Once unison can be repaved, we will no longer be enslaved

For the country is led by more than just one
