The Little Love That Could

There's a love that won't be silenced
Though it doesn't say a word
It sings into the universe
Though its voice cannot be heard
Like the breaking of a sunrise
That precedes the dawning day
Like the memory of a sunset
That never goes away

Not Said With Words

Heart all aflutter when she looks in my eyes
Thoughts deep inside me of claiming the prize
An intimate lesson, I teach her guitar
My arms are around her, she's forming the bar
My hand covers her hand and together we push
Til the notes resound cleanly and efforts produce
An elegant love song played effortlessly
Conveying through music that in which we agree

I love you little Bluebird
Here's bidding you sleep tight
I'll dream about your pretty face
Until the morning light
And when I wake I'll dream some more
Sweet dreams all through the day
Some whisk you off to Paris
Some where at home we stay
Some place us in a postcard on
Some mountain or some beach
With total peace and quiet...
Somewhere out of reach

You're the 1-4 Me

Sitting on a lonely beach
Staring out to sea
Dreaming of two people
One of them is me
The other is a bluebird
And she's the cat's meow
Waiting for that someday
I wish it could be now

All For A Smile

I'll take you on a journey
There's places we can see
I picked a few I think you'll like
I hope that you'll agree

Let's watch a blazing sunset
From somewhere on a shore
Just you and I together
I couldn't ask for more

Let's eat Godiva chocolate
From a Belgian chocolatier
I mean flying there to Brussels
Not going somewhere here

Let's sip some French press coffee
At a Paris street café
Where afternoons just mosey on
And an hour lasts a day

Let's swim on the Amalfi coast
That part of Italy
Supposedly is beautiful
Take it in with me

Let's spend some time in Switzerland
I'll rent a small chalet
With a picture window looking out
On Alps not far away

Let's tour United Kingdom
Welsh castles everywhere
We'll walk the English countryside
And breathe the Scottish air

We'll get our steps in easily
Walking hand in hand
I'll get to be alone with you
Wouldn't that be grand?

Pack a bag, we'll be away
It might be for awhile
I'll take care of everything
Just let me see your smile

Thinking Spot

Thinking spot thinking, another sunset
Another small poem, another vignette
Written for someone who's always on my mind
With a smile and a voice that is one of a kind
And though she's not near me she always will be
Alive in my heart and living in me

With angelic voice and a beautiful song
That I'll always recall, yet it's for her that I long
To be making great music with, one heck of a team
And maybe we'll realize the things of this dream
And maybe we won't, if not that's okay too
'Cause I've tasted it through it, together with you

Her Favorite Color

Bluebird
Blue skies
Seen through
Blue eyes
The deepest blue I've ever seen
My heart and mind as one convene
Determination? Beautiful!
Love for her? Immutable
Dazzled by her every move
In harmony and with one groove
Captured by the very thought
That I have found who I have sought
This profound love I've heard about
It does exist, I no more doubt

Sleep Baby, Sleep

Lay your weary head
Inside my warm embrace
I'll wrap my arms around you
Within them now encased

Comforted between them
Free from want or care
No chaos or mayhem
Let that go on elsewhere

Close your eyes, I've got you
Rest in knowing this
And should a little tear fall
I'll dry it with a kiss

I'll take all your troubles
And put them onto me
You just breathe in deeply
Much better now, you see?

You're tired, come, I'll hold you tight
I'll all your worries keep
And sing you gentle lullabies
Sleep now baby, sleep

Sunstay

Don't go down sun
Please stay up a little more
Your colors are spectacular
And though I've seen them all before
I never seem to tire
Of beholding pretty things
And there's someone who I'm thinking of
Your equivalent like she sings

For in her voice so beautiful
Live poems I write of
And the subject of that poetry
Is the woman who I love
And if she were right here with me
Together we would stand
And watch your brilliant colors fade
Before heading to dreamland

Smiley Face

When there's a smile on my face
It means you're on my mind
I think about you often
Almost all the time
And when I don't the reason is
As simple as this seems...
I fell asleep and waking thoughts
Have shifted into dreams

Dreams where you and I are now
In France, or on a beach,
Or sitting by a fireplace
In a cabin out of reach
Together watching snowflakes fall
With music soft and low
The nearest other person
Is on the radio

A fiery, pastel sunset
A song by Sarah J.
One guitar played with four hands
Let's try that out one day
For all these thoughts and dreams I have
Come when I think of you
There's no one else who makes me smile
Quite the way you do
