I Lost My Eyes

My back laid on this old coconut tree,
My feet rested upon this shapeless rock,
My hands set on this mid-sized notebook,
Only my eyes-
Lost.

The sun shore right through the blue
Dressed sky, kissing her lush caramel skin.
The breeze smoothly caressed her dark,
Sleek tresses. I am jealous-
The waves took turns jumping with her,
As they laughed at everyone at the beach.
I wish I was the one she took the many
Glimpses at, with a smile I can’t yet explain.
Now I must save my heart,
Which I was losing,
Together with-
My eyes.

The Light At the End of the Tunnel

They told me that
There is light at the
End of the tunnel.
They told me that I
Do not lose my hope.
That there is light-
Somewhere at the end-
Yet they did not say
The tunnel
Would be like this.
So long and so dark
Is it even a tunnel?
I don’t know anymore
If I am going forward
Or back
Where I came from?
What if I see a light?
And I'm at the beginning
Of it all...

A Hedgehog, a Dreamer

In the scent of fresh petrichor,
I stride,
Like a star drifting in space.
Even my pointy quills,
surrender to the serene breeze.
The night’s epic glory,
Mine.

Everybody trapped in
By that rainy hour,
I see one lost like me.
A dreamer-
Gazing at the naked moon,
Bemused,
Wishing all nights be like this.

A Poet's Horror Story

My ataraxia, lost
Now exists a thought
troubling my mind,
a thought of a grand poem
imploring to be penned,
a thought playing
the ho-hum game
of hide and seek,
a thought
appearing and disappearing
like an amateur magician’s act,
a thought like the others
I end up writing about,
A thought
I must tirelessly
Scour my mind for,
For that is
a poet’s horror story
And I will finally
slay my ghost
When I read that poem
written as it wanted to be -

Leaf Stalk

Like a leaf stalk
Forever
I will hold
You-
My leaf blade.

My Love, Her

Your skin glows like the Apple, blossoms Perfect as the Rose in the purest hope of spring.
My yearning heart rises to your Piano voice and leaps like a Pony at the whisper of your name, Her.
The evening ascends in on a great Dove wing.
I am calmed by your Dress that I carry into the twilight of Lipbeams and hold next to my Eyes.
I am filled with hope that I may dry your tears.
As my Heart falls from my chest, it reminds me of your hugs.
In the hushed, I listen for the last Laugh of the spring.
My heated Hands leaps to my Hat. I wait in the crystal moonlight for your secret kiss so that we may dance as one, Hands to Hands, in search of the glorious Violet and spiritual Love of love.
My love, Her.

A Stranger

I saw a cat today.
I wonder why it was
Staring at me.
Not even a blink,
I don’t know,
Maybe they don’t-
Blink.
Does it have something
To say to me?

Why are they so-
Big and weird,
Two legs?
How?
Why?
Something is wrong-
With them.
