Does Anyone Care

Does anyone care about friendship?
A beauty of life
But we grow out of friendships
And make new ones
Still, our hearts
Are forever
Changed
We are too obsessed with our phones
To let this happen
WAKE UP!
Does anyone care about the oceans?
Pure, pristine and beautiful, full of life
Not ours to take with industrial pollutants
We’ve grown out
Of caring
For the ocean and earth,
Our mother
We continue
To pollute
WAKE UP!
We are an odd race
We stare at phones and
Kill our home
But we
Are capable
Of saving it
And killing our phones
We need to
GROW UP!

Growing Pains

She bursts out of class
Trying to get away
To go home and cry

She has no friends
Just a house and parents
Who are nice
Too nice

There are no sharp things
In her world
Nothing harmful
In her world

The scales fall from her eyes
And she realizes where she
Really is
She needs to get out

She tries to find a way out
Of her Worst Nightmare

She succeeds, but it is bitter indeed
For in gaining her freedom
She loses the safety of the
Illusion

Journey

She is a beautiful girl
As she walks through the Valley of Trust
With her parents
At eleven

She becomes more graceful
As she sprints through the Grasslands of Independence
Without her parents due to a dispute
At twelve

She hunches her back
As she swims through the River of Sadness, fighting the current
Half of her trying to get back to shore, the other half surrendering
At thirteen

She is crumpled
As she floats into the Sea of Depression
Not even trying to get away
All alone
At fourteen

She is stronger than one thinks
As she gets into the Jungle of Uncertainty
Announcing her presence, willing to fight for what is right
At fifteen

She is scarred but stands tall
As she climbs the Mountain of Bravery
She is Alone but Doesn’t Care
At sixteen

Her name is America
And this is her journey

The Man

Stand up, Rise up
Against The Man

Fight him to the Death
For your Freedom

The Man seems to be Power
But upon closer inspection
He is Me!

Mad

It all makes sense
The Visions she sees
The Pain they inflict
The Insults hurled like stones

They all think she’s mad
A Crazy girl
An Imbecile Teenager
A Weird goth

She is the queen of an empire of beauty
An empire of Pain
An empire of Genius
An empire of Oddness

They need to subdue her
With Drugs
With Force
With Abuse

Alinina lies still on the hospital bed
Her visions, true
But those who were unable
To accept them had to subdue
The Mad Girl

All In a Day

Cleaning
The house
Cooking
For her family
All in one day

Standing
For hours
Never
Getting a break
All in one day

The life of a mom
is hectic, sure,
But all for one day

The Ghost

I met myself
Walking down the hallway
Of an old school
The ghost of a former self
Innocent but cruel
Smart but not wise
The ghost laughed
Her echoing laugh
Full of joy and sadness
As I told her about what she had become
But what she will never be
She is dead, after all

The Fourth Floor To Nowhere

I look out
Into nothingness
I'm scared
I want to fly
But I'm afraid I'll fall
Will I ever fly?
Can I?
Is it nothingness, though?
Or just something I don't know?
I take a deep breath
And jump out of
The fourth floor to nowhere
And into a new life
