Kurtis Steigmann Poem
Swiftly and bravely,
The Hare scatters from its home,
a glimpse of nature.

Kurtis Steigmann Poem
The sun arises from slumber
As the birds begin to chirp
The frosty grass is turning a lighter shade
Brown leaves falling gracefully from the tall trees
The glistening diamonds of ice upon the cold concrete path
Nature awakes for another day

Kurtis Steigmann Poem
First, look to your left,
then look to your right,
do you see that alright?
what your looking at is purity,
what your looking at is freedom,
the animals, do you see them?
their only worry is survival,
take it in,
as this forrest of eternal beauty may be gone soon,
with no revival,
this place is great,
ever so delightful.
So take it in,
your creativity may begin,
take it in,
take it in.
This place is soon no more,
but people choose to ignore,
from a place of beauty,
to a soon to be eyesore,
future generations may not be able to witness what I saw,
they will build unecessary buildings,
buildings that animals shouldn't die for.
So take it in,
your creativity may begin,
take it in,
take it in.
As you venture through this wonderland,
thoughts will appear,
even ones you don't understand,
so listen to the sounds that you can hear,
before they leave,
before they disappear,

Kurtis Steigmann Poem
The clock ticks
Almost time
We wait now
Thinking why
Time goes slow
Worst of days
Now over
Joy at first
Sadness grows

Kurtis Steigmann Poem
The forest is natural and green,
Eyes no longer glued to a screen,
The purest nature,
There is nothing greater,
-
The most beautiful place I have seen.

Kurtis Steigmann Poem
Slipping on the thick blanket of ice
Cold and hungry
Searching for prey
A young family relying on us
Finding warmth within the den
Love keeps us together
Winter is not forever, spring will come soon
Leaving the cubs in the shelter
Another day of hard work
Short days but colder nights
Dreaming of an early sun rise
Hopeful of warmer days
Patiently waiting
Winter is not forever, spring will come soon
February has passed
March has just began
Counting down the days
The hard, concrete like ice is no more
The sky is brighter
My family are happier
Winter is not forever, spring has just come

Kurtis Steigmann Poem
Waking up not knowing how to feel
A friend that I haven’t known for years
The unexpected news not seeming real
Sadness but vacant of tears
Not wanting to stay in, but knowing I will
A moment of time personified by my deepest fears
Waking up not knowing how to feel
Time passes, unlike the pain
The world is bright but my mind is grey
Constantly feeling the same
Waiting for the end of the day
Thinking of the name
Struggling to cope but there’s always a way
No one but life itself to blame
I’ve heard all the words people like to say
Time passes, unlike the pain

Kurtis Steigmann Poem
Strolling through my new town
Strangers talking solely on their phone
Quiet, with the occasional ringtone sound
Despite the smiles and laughs they feel alone
Imagining a conversation with a friend yet found
That awkward nod to a stranger, still on my own
Now avoiding eye contact, staring at the ground
A community broken by an isolated tone
A place no longer bound
Time to go home

Kurtis Steigmann Poem
I see the sea and start to believe that I’m free
I hear the birds and the gentle waves
I feel the fresh crisp air
And as my hair to starts to sway
For one small moment I look away
And wake up, not quite ready for another day
