Sajda

When life happens
I would grab a pen and starts writing
In a piece of torn paper
Or the palm of my hand
I'd feel better then
Consoled and relieved and
Then again
Life happens
By the qadr of Allah
But this time
I'd make a quick taharah
Grab a dress and mat for salah
With niyyah solely for Al A'la
That's when I stopped writing, 'cause
All is fine with a single sajda

Unafraid

On full battle gear
Take me to a cliffhanger
I have got no fear

Inexistent

Wander aimlessly
To exist and not at once
Death will set you free

Longing For Home

Must be the smell of dust
That triggers all this longing
Is it the hollow musk
That leaves the heart a sting
Could be the busy streets
That makes me want to go
Onto the open fields
Anywhere near home
Must be the stares that kill
And drunken mouths that speak
Where birds are forced to swim
And weak is for the meek
Is it the slamming doors
That screams for us to bend
One thing is for sure
Jannah awaits the patient

Tawwabin

Some words are like arrows thrown
Mindlessly, without a thought
A faucet that freely flows
Heedless of the coming drought
We waste our time in futile cause
Those trivial battles we have fought
We show the world how much we've grown
With lavish items we have bought
Years have passed we think we owned
With sins that's bursting at the seams
Where's the rope I used to hold
Is Jannah far beyond reach?
Just the thought of these and more
Gives me the anxieties
With At-tawwab as my Lord
Somehow puts my heart at ease

A Breathing Tempest

You used to be that tempest
A raging tempest in a moving car
Thunder echoes in your chest
A chest keeping all that is bizarre
Relinquished every last in a heartbeat
Unshrouding your vulnerabilities
You whispered to the one who'd make the sky split
To the one who knows your past victories
Tell's about this hamster wheel
Wheeling through your afterthought
You sure sound like a tempest, still
Still a tempest, just in a broken teapot

The Last Laugh Is For the Patient

Be patient, oh, honored one
The trials have just begun
Run fast to the Almighty
That's how tests are won

Hold on to patience, my dear
You shall not grieve nor fear
It may seem too hazy now
The horizon shall soon clear

Be patient and never go amiss
Seek His face with life in bliss
Your Lord shall surely give you
And you shall be well pleased

Hold on, my dear, this chance is ours
This present clearly smells like flowers
Be still and calm amidst the storm
'What is patience but a few hours'

Be patient for if you only knew
The last and final laugh is sweet
And it certainly belongs to you

Empty

I laugh in lullabies
I smile from ear to ear
My heart is not but a pump device
My ribcage has nothing but air
