The Never Ending War, In the Name of What

The never Ending War,In the name of What?

I never questioned an order my friend, we die for our Emperor and our Empire, they will submit or face our Legions, ours is a mighty sword wielded by a mighty army, our cause is always just, our aim is to crush your resistance, I am their universal soldier and I will kill you in the name of.... what?

Has history taught me anything so far, yes my friend, our armies can cross an ocean, scale a mountain, all for a promise of unimaginable wealth and power, not with sling and arrow, but a new force of explosive fire, I am their universal soldier and I will kill you in the name of.... what?

Here I stand on the battlefields of Europe, ours is a noble cause, it always is, subjugation in the pursuit of greed, muskets spitting lead, like giant machines, 42 commands, yes 42 commands is the steps I take to kill you, I am their universal soldier and I will kill you in the name of.... what?

DeJa Vu, Europe just like an old friend beckons me once more and just like a Pheonix rises up from the ashes, so does the tyrant, born from poverty, raised on false hope and lies, I am the machine, I march on land, sea and air, I am their universal soldier and I will kill you in the name of.... what?

Have I learnt anything, yes my friend I can conquer you from a comfortable chair, my hands are always clean, the whites of your eyes are a distant memory, am I so different from my ancient brothers, when I’m called, I’ll reply “I am your universal soldier and I will kill for you ................
In the name of what?

Look At Me When I'M Talking To You

Look at me when I’m talking to you.

Verse 1
Have drink, meet at the pub, fool around and have some grub
Sitting round not a care in sight, jokes and laughs all through the night
This is how it used to be, no mobile phones or Sky T V

Verse 2
Get on line, free wifi here, living the dream in a virtual sphere
Order my food from my latest App, then tell the world if it’s crap
Facetube, hashtag, post on line, tell the world everythings fine

Chorus
Tim Berners Lee what have you done, gave us the web, then killed our fun
Conversation a thing of the past, glare at screens, type it in fast
Look at me when I’m talking to you, forget Facetube and wannadoo

Verse 3
Gotta tablet, reader and mobile phone, chatting on line, I’m not alone
Virtual friends are easy to please, no eye to eye, or hands to squeeze
Going to town’s just a pointless trip, I got it all here at my finger tip

Verse 4
I’d like to think one day you’ll change, take a step back and re-arrange
Conversations try it and see, turn off that phone, just talk to me
It’s easy when you really try, say hello to a passer by

Chorus
Tim Berners Lee what have you done, gave us the web, then killed our fun
Conversation a thing of the past, glare at screens, type it in fast
Look at me when I’m talking to you, forget Facetube and wannadoo

Please just put that phone down, We’re out just having a drink and enjoying ourselves
Turn that phone off, don’t keep looking at that phone
Turn it off, put it in your pocket and we’ll have a conversation
Doesn’t matter what we talk about, let’s just have a conversation

Just Goes Out of My Head

Lyrics By Mick Hills.
Just Goes Out of my Head.

Verse 1
I’m standing here all alone, not sure where or why
I had some thoughts a time ago, memories drifting by
Can’t seem to keep my thoughts, they just melt away
Need to write it down, remember what to say

Thinking bout a time in life, then it just goes out of my head
Tried to recall, a conversation and all things we said
This should be so easy, I just don’t know why
My thoughts seem to disappear into my mind’s eye

Verse 2
Getting old it aint fun, hard to concentrate
Fix my mind on the outside world, in a steady state
Walking through this door, I stop and wonder why
My brains gone to overload, it’s empty as the sky

Thinking bout a time in life, then it just goes out of my head
Tried to recall, a conversation and all things we said
This should be so easy, I just don’t know why
My thoughts seem to disappear into my mind’s eye

Verse 3
You may think that I don’t care, I never listen to you
Try to hear what you have to say, I really really do
I’ll try hard in future, maybe need to slow my pace
Remember all the things you say and in the right place

Thinking bout a time in life, then it just goes out of my head
Tried to recall, a conversation and all things we said
This should be so easy, I just don’t know why
My thoughts seem to disappear into my mind’s eye
