Little Corona

Little Corona
declared one day
"I will be the strongest,
most powerful I say !"

"I shall conquer the world,
and establish my reign.
The world in my hands,
never free again !"

"The fittest shall survive,
as Darwin said.
And all the weaklings,
will sadly be dead"

"Ridden with fever,
cough and cold,
the world will suffer,
the young and the old...."

"My reign will start
where its most populated,
I think its China"
little Corona speculated.

"I will then go on
to the Americas,
the world's most famous,
celebrated landmass."

"And that's not the end"
little Corona went on,
"I will destroy the world,
my reign will go on !"

"I will make sure,
none can escape, NONE !!
Try as hard as they might,
to fight me or run."

"I am the most powerful,
and I am very clever.
I will conquer the world,
You can defeat me NEVER !!"

Or so Corona thought,
being little and immature.
But man is much smarter,
and will certainly find a cure !

What If

What if I sleep,
and never wake up again ?
What if I am redeemed
of sorrow and pain ?

What if the world
comes to an end ?
What if I am sad
and do pretend ?

What if I change
this outlook of life,
and give myself
a big high-five ?

What if I wake up
to a brand new day ?
What if I turn
my life another way ?

What if I always
look at the good side ?
What if I begin
to enjoy the ride ?

Oh Grandma Dear

You left us too soon,
oh grandma dear,
I really wish,
you were still here !

With that beautiful smile,
and your head full of hair,
I still cannot think,
that you are not there !

Leaving moments to treasure,
and memories to keep,
you are now in a slumber,
that is ever so deep.

You may not wake
to see a dawn break.
You may be gone,
but you will still live on,

in the people you touched,
their mind and heart.
You will be in their thoughts,
and never live apart !

Wonder

I wonder why
the earth is so round...
And all the stuff
that is yet to be found...

I wonder why
the sky is blue...
the plants are living,
so are you...

I wonder how
the sun is so bright...
and Mother Nature
is always so right...

I wonder where
the power does lie
that keeps us working
until we die...

I wonder if it all
will end one day....
But I only wonder
and cannot say...

If the world had a beginning
or an end per se,
I will only keep wondering
till my last day !!

My Mother's Hands

Rough and weathered,
yet tender inside,
they have been through it all,
with nothing to hide.

Experienced for a lifetime,
they work day and night,
taking care that everything
is always right.

They caress me with love
and console me when I am sad,
they teach me to behave,
and punish me when I am bad.

They have kept me alive,
and made me what I am today,
I wish, I pray my mother's hands,
with me will forever stay !

Farewell London

No words to speak,
no words to write.
I bid farewell,
to London tonight !

The city of joy,
the city of dreams,
my time with you,
is up it seems !

You have given me experiences,
never to forget.
In all my life,
the best ones yet !

With moments to treasure,
and memories to keep,
I part from you,
with gratitude so deep.

I bid farewell,
with a heavy heart.
Alas ! It is time,
for me to depart.

I go back now,
with hope in my heart,
to come back to London,
for a new start !

The Banner

Along the pavement,
on a lonely night,
I could see,
not a soul in sight.

Dark and empty,
not a sound to hear,
Just a solitary
atmosphere.

Suddenly behind myself,
a tapping I hear !
I froze in my tracks,
and trembled in fear !

I dared not turn,
I dared not see,
I was terrified
of what it could be !

As I was thinking,
I heard it again !
I asked myself,
if I was insane !

At my wit's end,
overwhelmed with fear,
I finally decided,
that the time was here.

With apprehensions,
I turned around,
to face the source
of the tapping sound.

I saw nothing,
just gaping space,
was this what
I was destined to face ?

I waved it away,
with a laugh and scoff,
But there it came,
and threw me off !

That's when I saw
a banner hanging,
on a fence that
it was banging.

Tapping gently,
in the breeze,
the very sound
that made me freeze !

All I felt was
relief and shame.
The wind had played
a wonderful game !

I Was Once a Part of You

I was once
a part of you,
and of course
you know it too !

We shared a body
and a heartbeat...
I wouldn't mind
if it was to repeat...

For 9 whole months
we were one...
But with my birth
it all begun !

I began to see
that we weren't the same....
But I didn't know,
who I was to blame !

Was it the world
or was it my genes ?
I still don't understand
what it really means,

to be so different,
yet one with you...
and I am sure,
you don't know too !

Finding a House

Finding a house,
is the most difficult thing.
You find what you like,
or you get nothing !

You want a bedroom,
with a shower attached,
a kitchen of your own,
and your budget matched.

You want it close
to the university,
and to be free,
from the noise of the city.

You want a supermarket
close to the place,
for all your daily needs
or just in case.

You also want a study,
that is quiet and calm,
so the noise of the city
can do you no harm.

You don't want to pay
the additional bills,
even if the flat
your criteria fulfils !

Now that's too much,
if you asked me I'd say.
Compromise, make a choice
and call it a day !

The Tale of the Heart and the Mind

The heart was set,
but the mind was not.
The heart felt stolen
with no second thought.

The mind did warn
the heart and say,
'The feeling's not right,
let it go away....'

But the heart was hopeless
in the depths of love,
and completely deaf
to the mind above....

When it began to drown,
in the feelings it felt,
the mind came by
and beside it knelt.

As the heart begged,
'Oh let me go!
I am his
and nothing more!'

The mind then warned
one last time,
'This feeling of yours
has no reason, no rhyme!'

'Stay.....Stay....
for you shall be lost,
you shall be broken
but at what cost?'
