Miki

we spun in circles until we fell
and screamed Def Lepard down the hall
we always thought it'd last forever
living and dreaming oblivious to their glares
innocent and gullible
I never saw your devious smiles
maybe you never did either
maybe you lied because you knew no other way
you spun rainbows into my dreams
our reality was our own
maybe I should accept
the joys of our graveyard running
and the kisses I knew were wrong
perhaps you were a faerie
not evil, not bad
just lovingly wicked
dancing in your sparkly overalls
with tears in my eyes,
I still dream about
you and me spinning in circles until we fell
screaming Def Lepard down the hall

Years From Now

ice cream dreams
melt away in the heat of your eyes
my body turns to insect wings
as I choke on hello
I dance in the circles of your love
never knowing where I'll land
black lines of pain fill my vision
and I watch you walk away
soon your face will be a faded picture
in my memory
someday I will sit
alone and sad
trying to remember how I got here
and I'll never know where you went
but I will remember your lips on mine
and know that you were real

The Lonely Crowd

where are you when I cry at night
why can't you see my pain
I know I hide it but I didn't know I did so well
I thought the cuts were enough
to tell you that I needed you
nothing's ever enough
I'm alone again tonight
just like every other night before
doesn't matter who's around
I'm still alone
this crowded room is empty
all of those eyes look right through me
I want to scream
see if they can hear me

Four Hours

flying through a dream
try to grab what's real
it all just spins away
exploding in clouds of confusion
doomed to search the endless voids
never finding what I seek
feel the screams coursing through me
all of those tears left unshed
carbonated emotions
bouncing down a flight of stairs
tighten the cap on my sanity
could this be reality
wake me up from this dream
if only it was just a nightmare
whispers from nowhere
they're speaking without a sound
