Broken Bird

They clipped my wings, yet I still fly
Thrown off a cliff to chase a lie
Now I fall through the clouds
A broken bird left to die

A single wish to give me strength
My salvation is bittersweet
Its form I ponder at great length
Wandering the silent street

Though I may be broken
I have yet to be beat
I swear on my grave
I will not face defeat

My hope is unshaken
The foundation is deep
Its time to awaken
I'll return from my sleep

They plucked my wings, yet I still fly
Jumped off this cliff to chase a lie
So I fall through the clouds
A broken bird left to die

We're locked in my head
As we go insane
Our eyes filled with madness
To poison my brain

We claw at my mind
Sculpted with care
The home of our soul
My hope and despair

It cracks in our hand
And pours from my palm
Then turns to sand
Along with our calm

They crushed my wings, yet I still fly
Leaped off this cliff to chase a lie
Again I fall through the clouds
A broken bird left to die

The times come to save me
So I'll break my chains
With my sanity fading
I'll give them my pains

My fire consumes me
As I burn to ash
My hatred subsumes me
Along with my past

I forgot the reason that I cling to life
Drowning in pain, torment, and strife
I never forget the pain of the knife
It cut through my bones like the blade of a scythe

They stole my wings, yet I still fly
Ran off my cliff to chase a lie
As I fall through the clouds
A broken bird left to die

Faithfully, I chase our dream
A fraying rope on its final string
Lighter than air, more solid than lead
This foolish hope, it sings to me

Refusing the truth
I clutch at the seams
Denied my youth
I hold in my screams

I fish for the moon
Though it might be in vain
I pray for this boon
While it drives me insane

They reaped my wings, yet I still fly
Kicked of this cliff, I have faith in a lie
I fall through the clouds, towards the moon in the sky
A broken bird, I will not die

Now I cease to exist
As I fade from the sky
The final cost, to bring truth to my lie
This broken bird will never die

Spring Rains

Above I hear the raindrops ding
Yet higher still the storm clouds ring
Now I feel the thunder sing

I see the monsoon rage outside
My cat runs up my shirt to hide
Running from it's hollow pride

The spring rains rarely come so soon
To usher in the first full moon
Children born as this years boon

The rising sun will melt the snow
As raindrops help the seeds to grow
Grass shoots push out from below

Nature's Lullaby

a flutter, a drop of rain
caught on a spring breeze
drifting way up high

loft above this evening mist
touching the sun, a gentle kiss
a fleeting moment, perpetual bliss

i gaze upon the starry sky
a look of wonder in my eye
i vow to never say goodbye

Shadows of Ashes

Shadows of ashes
Touch my eyelashes
I stare up at an empty sun
Someone please give me a gun
All around an empty void
My hopes and dreams have been destroyed
Put the gun against my head
Make sure it's filled with lead
I lie awake this moonless night
And finally give up the fight
Pull the trigger, I go to bed
Now this painful life is dead
Then I wake up from my sleep
Still alive, I sit and weep
Though I do not make a sound
My faith has once again been found
I drag my corpse through the street
Never alive, I move my feet
This hateful world won't let me die
So faithfully, I chase a lie
Delusions fuel my will to thrive
Beyond the deep end I will dive.

The Prison of Life

I stand on knives

Looking around

All I see

Is pain abound

The walls are lined with broken blades

Jagged is the floor of nails

I look up and see the moon

The ceiling of this hateful room

The beauty, it brings me to tears

I climb the walls for many years

Finally, I reach the top

My blood I have just one last drop

I stand up to embrace my goal

And find, I have not moved at all.

Grasping the Moon

The moonlight wavers on a pond

waves are splashing high and low

The illusion shimmers, then it's gone

Hid behind a pale window

Hands wave to clear the fog

Yet only let the image go

Universal Balance

As I look up into the abyss

I strive to see what I have missed

Filled with wonder and light

The stars shine so very bright

To mask the evils of the night

Where there is beauty, there is also pain

Enough to drive me insane

Yet I look up into the sky

And allow the madness to pass me by.

Upon a Proverb

The moonlight wavers on a pond

waves are splashing high and low

The illusion shimmers, then it's gone

Hid behind a pale window
